I maintain that the single most insufferable thing about New Yorkers is that they bewilderingly try to claim everything. This transcends politics—all New Yorkers do this. Yes, everyone has coffee. Everyone has convenience stores (nicer than your “bodegas”). Everyone has what you have and it’s usually cleaner and cheaper!

I think I successfully swapped out the drain and fixed the problem but I may never find out because I don’t want to crawl under the house ever again.

When I was crawling around the crawlspace trying to look for termites, as one does, I found that my bathtub was leaking and now I own a drain removing wrench which is not something I thought would ever happen.

You can tell this is a joke because if it were based on a building a real trash can in California, the environmental review would take 18 years by itself, studying whether the can was equitable would be another 20, and construction would never actually be finished
