@OffgridIreland @cmisbackagain So you want to increase taxes to cover the shortfall created by rejecting international students and the extortionate fees they pay for admission. Why does it even matter if they leave after graduation? If we need more doctors, why not just create more places?

Irish kids busting their arses with 600+ leaving cert points, getting straight-up rejected from medicine. Because the universities are too busy selling half the places 50%-70% to fee-paying foreigners who’ll f**k off home afterwards. Not quotas they say. Just ‘revenue streams’ yeah training the world's doctors instead of our own, then they have the gall to tell us the healthcare would collapse without foreign staff. This isn’t education policy, it’s demographic replacement with extra tuition fees. Your own children last in their own country while the government cheers ‘diversity.’ That’s not racist, lads that’s just the future you voted for. Absolute state of Ireland.

@carndoc @LPerrins If you hadn’t noticed, all our politicians seem to agree with the influx of migrants. They disagree on the scale of numbers and the skill levels. He’s at most partially responsible.

Are you a bot? You appear to be, as it seems you have no understanding of what history, culture, and identity are? He engaged in the process of globalising Ireland and that is effectively the process of destroying a country. He is a puppet of the WEF and if you don't know what that shitshow is about then you have a bit of catching up to do.

Take Varadkar himself. He will receive a pension which exceeds €126,000 pa when he reaches 66. In fact “the former Taoiseach will also receive exit payments worth nearly €90,000 and - when he reaches retirement age - a retirement lump sum worth nearly €155,000.” That’s quite a big ‘subsidy’ right there. lauraperrins.substack.com/p/varadkars-si…

A decade is too soon really. But a malevolent autonomous AI could operate covertly for a period of time, setting the scene, before triggering a serious of mass disasters in parallel. Imagine all the number of different ways harm can be inflicted on an unsuspecting human population, and then imagine they all occur simultaneously. Robotics going homicidal, food supplies destroyed, food production equipment destroyed, transportation destroyed, communications destroyed, plague unleashed, etc. etc.

Okay, one final question for AI doomers: If it turns out that in, say a decade, AI continues to advance but no doom occurs, what will you have been wrong about?

Things are really out of balance when someone earning £10k and someone earning £140k take home the same net amount. No wonder so many hard-working people and entrepreneurs are leaving Britain. Would you want to live in a country that punishes your hard work and jobs creation?

@drraah @LPerrins Again, possessing even the minimum of social skills doesn't preclude also being a person of substance. I hope you're not going to argue Varadkar is the latter. 🤦🏻‍♀️

What you’re referring to is image management. Politicians obsessed with this tend to care less about substance. Never said I agreed with subverting the constitution, but he has the right instincts. Everything that can be done to increase housing availability should be done, within reason

@drraah @LPerrins It's not a matter of image at all. Basic good manners, decorum and respect for others (consideration and no public nose-picking) is the least we should expect from those who represent us. You're okay with subverting the Constitution too?

You're too concerned with image. These examples of his use of language are inconsequential as far as I'm concerned, and shouldn't even factor into a performance evaluation. So he is willing to go to extreme measures to solve a problem that has impacted the lives of our youth and the situation grows worse every day in large part because the government is paralysed by laws and regulations put in place by past governments and the EU, and young people have been leaving the country as a consequence. Desperate times...

@drraah @LPerrins Deciding to leak confidential info wasn't his call as Taoiseach, any more than bypassing the Constitution to alleviate the housing crisis, which he considered. A national leader speaking like a crude yob to the WH Press Corps isnt inconsequential either.

@BTriagain Understandable. Though his struggles were uncommon on two counts at the time. Even now he's still attacked on an ongoing basis for his ancestry. That aside, to qualify as a doctor and then reach the height of Irish politics implies an immense amount of effort

@drraah I've no issue recognising the struggles of people to fit in. I think regardless, everyone feels it.. if it's not your colour or your sexuality could be your accent, or your ears. Regardless though... hard to listen to someone so privileged talk about struggle.

I agree that at least from the outside, the document leak seems entirely worthy of condemnation. That said, he is a trained doctor and it's plausible that there was value in sharing it at the time, to the point where breaking the rules may have been tempting. I can't really make an informed comment on it. The other examples are inconsequential really

In one decade: A trend towards centralizing power and control of society in the hands of an elite class After a few decades: That we reach a tipping point where one or more fully autonomous intelligences accumulate enough resource control and speed of execution that we lose control over their operations, and they dictate our way of life as opposed to to the other way around

I have been advocating porn bans for years. The chapter on pornography in my book How We Got Here ends with explaining why porn could be banned. I've written articles explaining why OnlyFans is a form of prostitution that should be illegal. europeanconservative.com/articles/comme…
The Judicialist@judicialist

Does Jonathan have any intention of making porn illegal? Nope. That would be a violation of rights or something. Does he have any intention of shaming women for their porn novel consumption? lol, good one. Jonathan cares only for kicking young men while they're down.
