@tylerblack32 At one point, the same could have been said about sugar and cavities, or ketosis and seizures. But apparently suggesting that people with serious mental illness try a healthy ketogenic diet in hopes it might help now inspires righteous indignation.

A good diet is great. In fact, it's wonderful. For all sorts of physical and mental health benefits. Our brains need glucose to operate. If you ever develop a mental illness, a diet will not treat your mental illness.
The Intellectualist@highbrow_nobrow

RFK Jr. suggests that a good diet is more effective at treating mental illness than psychiatric medications. *FC: People study medicine for years before they can prescribe medicine. RFK Jr. is not a doctor, nor does he have any medical credentials. (2026)

@tylerblack32 Very well put, and I agree. This sits in contrast with your original statement however that "a diet will not treat your mental illness." Maybe you meant, "a diet may or may not treat your mental illness, but I support further research"?

Ketogenic diet for drug-resistant epilepsy: nearly a century of clinical use, multiple RCTs, reproducible ~50% seizure reduction in roughly 30-40% of pediatric refractory cases, mechanism with reasonable specificity (GABA/glutamate shift, KATP channel modulation, reduced neuronal hyperexcitability). Ketogenic diet for SMI: one open-label pilot (n=21), case series, mechanistic hand-waving, zero adequately powered RCTs with active comparators. Phenytoin treats seizures but not depression. The epilepsy evidence is exactly the reason I take the SMI hypothesis seriously enough to want it properly tested. It's also the reason I won't accept pilot data as a substitute for that testing.

@tylerblack32 Yes all factual, and yes gluconeogenesis is real. And so how does ketosis benefit the epileptic patient? As you originally asserted a mere diet can't impact one's mental health. But it can treat a seizure disorder?

@drseanmurphy In a fully keto-adapted state, ketones can supply roughly 60–70% of the brain's energy needs, with glucose still required for the rest (about 25–30%). The brain never becomes 100% ketone-dependent. our brains need glucose to function. that's a fact.

I cut all seed oils for over 10 years. I ate low carb and cooked in ghee, tallow and minimal olive oil (spray). Got fatter, sicker, and eventually diabetic. Switched to a mixed, carby, seed-oil-containing, calorie-restricted diet. Lost weight & diabetes in remission.
Sama Hoole@SamaHoole

Cutting seed oils: what people expect vs what actually happens. Expectation: this will be easy. Reality: seed oils are in everything. Crisps. Crackers. Bread. Salad dressing. Mayonnaise. Hummus. Pesto. Soup. Ready meals. Protein bars. Vegan cheese. Plant-based anything. Most restaurant food. All fast food. The "healthy" options at the health food shop. Nearly everything in a packet. Expectation: I'll just use olive oil instead. Reality: olive oil is fine. Unfortunately, it's often blended with cheaper seed oils. Make sure you trust the source. Expectation: I'll notice a difference in a few weeks. Reality: linoleic acid has a half-life in body fat of around 600 days. The seed oils you ate last year are still in your cell membranes right now. This is a two-year project minimum. Most people don't have that kind of patience and give up. Expectation: people will understand. Reality: you will be told you're worried about nothing, that seed oils are fine, that the science is settled, and that you should eat the hummus. The hummus has sunflower oil in it. Expectation: I'll just cook with tallow. Reality: this works perfectly. Buy it once. It lasts months. Costs less than olive oil. Cooks everything better. Tastes good. Expectation: I'll feel smug. Reality: yes. Unavoidably. This is one of the confirmed side effects.

Some people are saying that we should "let the market decide" if some coins should be frozen. Should we also "let the market decide" how many Bitcoin will be issued? Great idea because the market is totally not filled with retards. Anyway, have fun with your shitcoin!
FRANCIS ⚜️ BULLBITCOIN.COM@francispouliot_

Anyone that attempts to restrict Satoshi's ability to spend his coins freely, or worse to outright confiscate his coins, is my enemy. I'm willing to give some of them the benefit of the doubt that may merely be retarded and/or fags. Have fun with your shitcoin 🖕

I have a few married friends who have younger kids. Within these past couple of years, all of them have left their careers to stay home with their kids and homeschool. They all had to make adjustments, and they've had some financial sacrifices, but the decision to be a SAHM was something they all knew would be beneficial. And guess what? They're doing amazing! One couple has built a huge garden where they teach their kids as well as other homeschooled kids how to grow their own food. One couple has turned a large portion of their backyard into a space for chickens, ducks, and geese. They teach their kids how to care for animals and make money from the eggs. One couple was able to focus more time and effort into their beef cattle business, and they're teaching their kids the importance of raising animals in a humane environment and running a business. They don't worry about school days and times. They take vacations whenever they want to. They spend more time as a family. They learn about God and Jesus. They learn about the land. The financial sacrifices the family had to make have turned into something priceless in return. Raising their kids the way they want to and teaching them valuable life lessons. All of the kids are the most social, respectful, and well-behaved kids I have ever met. This is what America should be about. This is what we need to get back to. These are my kind of people. 🇺🇸

What happened during the tariffs war? China cut off everything the U.S. is dependent on it for. That broke U.S. supply chains, including the military-industrial complex. The U.S. cannot produce weapons at scale without China. Markets reacted immediately. Yields on 10-year bonds pushed above 4.6% and 30-year bonds above 5%. Trump had to TACO, because beyond that point, U.S. markets start to break. Now layer in oil above $115. The U.S. enters a depression, wiping out the middle class and, at the extreme, pushing Southeast Asian partners into food insecurity. Countries needing energy are forced to liquidate U.S. Treasuries to purchase oil. That strengthens the dollar, which kills U.S. exports and makes oil and LNG more expensive, locking in a global downturn. Meanwhile, China holds the largest reserves in the world, along with renewable and coal energy capacity, and Russia has alternatives. Taiwan needs energy, and in a worst-case scenario, China becomes the provider, with reunification on the table if conditions deteriorate. This is not accidental. It’s a system shift. Trump works for the financial-industrial complex. This is a wealth concentration exercise. It leads to a $7–$10 trillion monetary expansion, big print and marks the end of the U.S. as a reliable trading partner, as countries seek alternatives. Operation Warp Speed 2.0. A deal was always coming. This just accelerates it. The tariffs war already showed us the direction of travel. Trump had to TACO 🌮 And remember… The U.S. doesn’t have a sovereign wealth fund. Americans pay for the wars. Chevron, Cheniere Energy, Exxon, Golden Pass, etc. get the sales and profits. Prices go up. Your share of the national debt goes up. Socializing the costs. Privatizing the gains. The financial-industrial complex thanks you for your service. You will own nothing and be happy.
Simon Dixon@SimonDixonTwitt

You mean West Asia. China is effectively expelling the US from the Middle East using a proxy war before the rebuild. Remember what happened in the Tariff war if you think this is the US trying to choke China. 🌮

@sminston_with Practically would you manage this by doing a fixed dollar cost selling strategy? The psychology of selling in bear markets is so painful it can be hard to do even if the funds are needed.

2025 is in the rear view - but the "Retire on Bitcoin" numbers have barely changed. My retirement guide estimates, with a $100k/yr living cost (2026 dollars)... 3.5 - 4.5 BTC will be needed to retire by 2030 for many people. Just pick your age and retirement year.

Because, obviously, Trump is lying about the war for Qtards. IMO more US-aligned infrastructure will be destroyed to end US hegemony in the region, then rebuilt by China and the financial industrial complex once the outcome has been achieved. Israel weaker. Iran weaker. US weaker. UAE & India weaker. EU weaker. Then the dollar starts weakening again once the Strait reopens and oil crashes under the new world order. Tragic so many have to die for these transitionary wars.

Iran is firing MORE and they are hitting MORE per shot than during the first days of the conflict. Not good..

Strategy will become the world’s first public Bitcoin Bank. When @Saylor activates its $BTC as productive collateral, unlocking real yield, $MSTR valuation changes completely. It won’t be priced on treasury alone but on recurring Bitcoin cash flow. Multiple paths to get there:
