The municipality strongly condemned the theft, which disrupts essential services and burdens residents. It urged communities to report suspicious activities to protect public infrastructure. Copper cable theft remains a major problem across South Africa, often causing prolonged power outages. The suspects are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates' Court soon.
