Thank God for Elon. The world's a fine place, and is worth fighting for. @elonmusk
Carter Hughes@itscarterhughes

🚨HOLY COW: @ElonMusk says he bought Twitter, now X, because he found it "important to the future of civilization" to fix the "thumb on the scale" brought by Democrat-controlled Big Tech. Let's all give Elon a major "Thank you!"

@TheEcho13 Not really. Most women think they're too good for most men. The few they like - usually taller, aggressive, wealthy men - often treat them poorly. Those men they do excuse. The rest are invisible to women.

Men live in a world where women have been trained to overgive, excuse, soothe, and stay. The bar is so low that basic consideration makes him ‘one of the good ones’. And somehow men still fumble it because they treat love like something women owe them instead of something they have to earn and keep earning. If you can’t maintain the one advantage you were handed, don’t blame women for the loneliness you built.

Every man should at least be able to recite the famous passage from the "Horatius at the Bridge" poem by Macaulay: “Then out spake brave Horatius, The Captain of the gate: ‘To every man upon this earth Death cometh soon or late. And how can man die better Than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers, And the temples of his Gods"
John Slaughter, Esq.@JSlaughterEsq

We need a return of rote memorization. Men should be able to recite their heir favorite poems or passages of Shakespeare

@MayorFrey This is easily one of the worst ratios in recent X history, and there’s a very clear reason why: Minneapolis didn’t “change forever” for the better. It got hit with a crime wave, business exodus, and hellish chaos that locals are still living with 6 years later.

Today, we remember George Floyd, who was murdered by a former Minneapolis police officer six years ago.   That moment changed our city forever.

@ProblematicGru @AnechoicMedia_ Well, they defeated ferocious neolithic era warrior tribes, built cities, dug canals, founded banks and businesses, laid railroad track, fed the world with highly productive farms, built highly productive factories, etc etc, so, hardly just "free" land.

@AnechoicMedia_ To rephrase your point more cynically, they exploited what was already there for free (land) rather than through creating something or labor like immigrants who come to a capitalist country

Today, the City of Minneapolis wants to celebrate George Floyd instead of Memorial Day. In fact, they've failed to honor Memorial Day for years. All their posts on Memorial Day are just to remind people that the offices are closed. A violent career criminal who overdosed on fentanyl and held up a pregnant woman at gunpoint vs honoring brave service members who gave their lives for our country. Minneapolis is a FAILED city. Tampon Tim is a DISGRACE

They don’t teach that from 1920-1970, the US had severely restricted immigration… In those 50 years we won WW2, became a global economic and military superpower, created a booming economy, a thriving middle class and a strong common culture. The America everyone talks about.

@NixonPunished @StevenEdginton Hundreds of them, actually. I'm an Irish American who worked for an Indian tech firm. I find them intelligent, kindly, & polite. I also think our leading firms should hire & promote our citizens, including white guys. Two things can be true at once.

The American worker now faces a three-pronged attack. First, DEI policies discriminate against white employees in hiring and promotions. Second, corporations import cheap foreign labour through programs like H-1B visa. Third, when Americans cannot be replaced at home, their jobs are simply shipped abroad to countries like India. Few companies embody all three trends more clearly than IBM. The tech giant recently agreed to pay $17 million to settle allegations from the U.S. government that it discriminated against employees on the basis of race and sex. Federal authorities alleged the company tied bonuses and hiring decisions to demographic targets and restricted certain opportunities on the basis of identity. At the same time, IBM has relied heavily on imported labour, receiving 32,725 H-1B visa approvals over the past decade according to USCIS data. And increasingly, the company’s future appears rooted outside the United States altogether: under Indian-born CEO Arvind Krishna, IBM now employs roughly a third of its 280,000 workers in India, a figure that may rival, or even surpass, its American headcount.

@mkolken @EndWokeness My parents couldn't go to Church. But the funeral of a congressman and "civil rights icon" had 1,000s of guests dressed like it was the Oscars. A friend of mine's 80 year old father died of neglect in a COVID ward. No hydration, meds, nor food for a week.

@ABC This from the justice who couldn’t define what a woman is during her confirmation hearings and was celebrated as a historic “first” based on identity politics. The projection is Supreme Court-level.

@TheYootopian @OrevaZSN Billionaires & millionaires usually don't mug women for their purses. They generally don't shoplift, get in police chases, trash a Waffle House. They avoid punching the elderly in the face & robbing liquor stores. If they did we'd all know.

You reduce crime by eliminating poverty. The reason so called nice neighborhoods have lower crime rates is because people’s basic needs are being met. It is not because of police, alarm systems, or neighborhood associations. Poverty creates crime.

Give A Shit About Nature
Give A Shit About Nature@giveashitnature·
If you're worried about ticks, put up an owl box. The animal driving most Lyme disease in the eastern US is the white-footed mouse. Ticks that feed on them are far more likely to come away infected than ticks that feed on other animals. The bigger the local mouse population, the worse the next year's tick year. A single barred owl pair raising chicks can take hundreds of rodents in a breeding season. Owls also don't carry Lyme. The bacterium can't survive their digestive tract, so an owl that eats an infected mouse is a dead end for the disease. Researchers at the Cary Institute, the leading lab on Lyme ecology, have been explicit about this: "Landscapes that support predators have reduced Lyme disease risk." One owl box on its own isn't going to fix a tick year. But a yard with owls, foxes, bobcats, and weasels in it has fewer mice, and a yard with fewer mice has fewer infected ticks. If you have woods or fields nearby, a properly sized barn owl or screech owl box (different species, different boxes) is one of the most useful single things you can do for tick exposure at the landscape scale. Match the box to the owl that lives near you. The mouse is the problem, owls are the solution.

I disagree with Charlie on this one. He’s correct that Floyd died from OD however the knee on the neck was wrong. He keep kneeling on him long after he lost consciousness. He should’ve not only removed his knee from his neck, but he should’ve rendered aid. Floyd died from drugs, but that doesn’t fully absolve Chauvin.
