A minibus of people every day. Up by 60% in a decade. If this was the trend for any other health problem we'd recognise it for the public health emergency it is.

@TomPMarshall @LucyGoBag This is interesting to see thank you. I saw a survey recently that showed that crime is still remarkably high on the public's agenda. I suspect reporting is different to reality.

Qualified GPs haven’t got jobs There are 4000 new GPs each year Last year at the end of the year 40% had jobs ~ 2400 didn’t, add the previous year 1600, the year before 1500 you get the idea There are 250 jobs available online There aren’t enough jobs for GPs @wesstreeting

@drwillpearson @JoeMartin73 @UKGastroDr @wesstreeting Will, if Britain has X numbers of Drs, it produces at great expense and resource use in our universities, it's common sense to FIRST ensure THEY are employed & speciality trained, to not waste our great PUBLIC INVESTMENT in them... Imported Drs shld come AFTER that to meet NEED.

Today, I had to advise an ex-trainee to look for work abroad. They have applied for several training posts & have not even been shortlisted. UK trained, great references, great work ethic, locum work drying up. Heartbreaking 💔 How do we solve this issue @wesstreeting ?

My thoughts were why foreign ( or overseas - if thats a more benign word) trained doctors have access to British medical jobs when there’s a surplus - so it seems - of British trained doctors (many of who are of asian heritage) looking for jobs.

@RoshanaMN In the US, doctors are respected and valued. Petty power trips from management aren't tolerated.

@DrSdeG NHS pension for GPs is an absolute car crash that I feel will never get fixed. No idea how much is in there or how much there should be. System to fix it is an absolute joke. Received a reply yesterday from my query about six months ago.

Much of my pension has gone missing. And I am one of thousands like me. So it's not gold plated - it's covered in crap.

It’s increasingly hard to see a Doctor Policies made by NHS leaders & Governments have lead to fewer GPs Many GPs finishing training next month will not have jobs to start, with many unemployed or working less than they would chose All due to policies & lack of funding for GPs
