After 10 years of presiding over the lost decade , our Governor came out of hibernation and says he has “ ordered” race based quotas to be eliminated. @henrymcmaster , where have you been ? First, DEI is illegal under the constitution. Yet these DEI criteria are embedded into the policies of every agency. Your agencies are still complying with certain federal DEI criteria that were eliminated by Presidential executive order. The criteria in the agencies are buried so deep that your order is not going to eliminate anything. Time to do the hard work and eliminate most of the 103 bloated agencies you have given us over the last decade. Lets see. How much has the general fund grown under your watch ?  Oops ! Almost doubled. Also , you may need to “ order” your Senate pals to get the bill that would sunset regulations out of the deep freeze so you can change S.C. from having permanent regulations on the books each with the force of law.

When I’m Governor, this ends, day one. No taxpayer dollars to DEI. A @dcexaminer investigation spearheaded by @HallasEmily found disturbing things going on in SC cities.

For those asking, here is my full letter to President Clements regarding the firing of Clemson staff who made vile and repulsive comments celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk. This is not just about Clemson, it’s about every taxpayer-funded institution in South Carolina. When you work for the people of this state, you are held to a higher standard. We will not criminalize university leaders for doing their duty to uphold those standards, nor will we allow professors employed by the State to hide behind the law when they cross the line into endorsing political violence.
