@DrNiravPandya 100%. My kids benefitted mightily from youth sports, 3 of 4 continue to play at the college/professional level. Yet there are plenty of areas deserving of criticism, plenty crying for improvement. Participating and loving it doesn’t mean ignoring the ills of that system/culture

@StcFangirl @landofthe80s Agreed. Seasons 1 and 2 are so so good. Hard to keep a HS show going with the same cast of “teens”.
English

@landofthe80s I crushed on Hayward. The show just wasn't the same w/o him.
English

The series finale of “The White Shadow” aired on CBS today in 1981. The drama ran for 3 seasons and aired 54 episodes. #80s #nostalgia

@sym4dvl @landofthe80s RIP CJ. If only he didn’t go to the liquor store …
English

@JADorph @landofthe80s Greatest crossover moment ever. (2d greatest was Reed and Malloy (Adam-12) bumping into Gage and DeSoto (Emergency) at Rampart General)
English

@landofthe80s In an episode of St Elsewhere(also from MTM), Byron Stewart’s Coolidge bumps into Tim Van Patten and calls him Salami.
English

@al_ivator @Seymour_from_GP @landofthe80s Thomas Carter (Hayward) was the first to go behind the camera. Terrific TV director. (One of my 2 all-time favorite broadcast TV shows (non-cable). Seasons 1 and 2 are brilliant. Season 3 is a bit meh in comparison). Available on YouTube. Maybe other spots
English

@Seymour_from_GP @landofthe80s Scott, I think it was on CBS, so you would not get is on “farm cable”. As we used to say.
Was a great show. Thorpe and Salami went on to direct . Van patten did The Soprano’s I think

@Super70sSports 1977. I can remember two of the men as coaches. One was the sponsor. I think the other two just happened to be there.

@ad0rnai Grew up in the east bay suburbs but raised my kids (27, 24, 19, 19) in Berkeley. Living in communities where people (esp teens) have fewer cars, kids get around on foot, on bart and on bus, has a real impact on who they are. As kids, they explore/experience the world differently
English

@bay_photography I have a friend who grew up there from about age 6 until he left for college (his dad was a national park employee). He had such great stories. (I also hiked/camped with him and another friend in the Minarets of the eastern sierra. Spectacular. He was also like a mountain goat)

@dsfreem Magical in the winter magical in the fall
Extra special when you get a clash of both

@MikeTango22202 I make a dressing with Vegemite, Dijon and anchovies. If you like bold flavors (and it sounds like you do), check it out

English

@DrNiravPandya Just make sure your quad:hamstring strength is properly balanced

@RetroBayArea Those of us of a certain age still refer to it simply as “Marriott’s”

1 of 9: Welcome to Great America
A Retro Bay Area Series:
The Early Days of Great America in the late 1970s.
🎡🎠🎢🎟️
In 1976, the Marriott Corporation opened Great America in Santa Clara. It represented the state of the art in theme park design and attractions at the time.
It was designed and built with a strong commitment to authentic theming, reflected in the rides, entertainment, food, merchandise, and more.
The goal was to create a top-quality experience for families to enjoy together.
If you were a kid when it opened, you eventually took your own kids there. If you can, take your grandkids before it’s gone forever.

On a night when his alma mater @BHSjacketSports plays for the NorCal boys soccer title, Kalani scores and brings us back to the 2019 NCS final with the celly.

Come for the goal, stay for the celly 🥶

@RMGaustad @Acyn No one wants to lose access. Cadre of fecklessness.
English

@Acyn The reporter should have said "bullshit, that's a lie. We bombed them." Yeah, they might lose their job, but they'd be an American hero.
English

@BBGreatMoments The original planned orientation would have still been beautiful. When they rotated it, the stadium became iconic.

@30for30 I think about Hank Gathers a lot.
Dale Freeman@dsfreem
Only a week after HCM Awareness Day, we remember Hank Gathers, who died from that condition. 1 in 500 of us have it - most don't know & don't know that sudden cardiac death is the first your family learns of the condition. Everyone should get heart-checked, esp elite athletes 1/
