This is just name dropping without context. Something Kobe haters love to do. Kobe started his career in the bench. Eddie Jones and Van Exel were gone before Kobe was Kobe. If anything , how come Shaq wasn’t able to win with Eddie and NVE? Payton/Malone were old. Nash was 38 and injured. Dwight was coming off a serious lower back surgery, he even admitted he rushed back. Yes, Kobe had elite help with Shaq. Nobody denies that. SHAQ trade to Miami was one of the worst trades for a superstar. 04-05 only year Kobe missed playoffs. Many don’t remember especially you casuals, but Kobe had the Lakers in the playoff race, then he got hurt, Rudy T resigned, and Odom also got hurt, resulting them into missing playoffs. But from 2005-07 he was dragging Smush, Kwame, Walton, Cook, and Mihm-level rosters. Lakers had zero business making the playoffs these years, but they did. Because of Kobe. That’s how great he was. Before trading for Pau in 2007-2008, Kobe was carrying the Lakers to a 29-16 record, I believe they were 3rd in the west. Bynum gets injured which triggers trade for Pau. Then from 2008-10 he went to 3 straight Finals and won back-to-back with Pau as his best teammate. There’s a difference between “Kobe had help” and pretending every name he ever played with was prime superstar help. This argument is lazy. Clearly you weren’t old enough to witness Kobe’s greatness.

Purdy just wins. He’s 30-15 in his #49ers’ career and 5-3 in the playoffs. He was a winner at Iowa State, going 30-17 and he led them to 4 straight Bowl games. The 1st year w/o Purdy, Iowa State went 1-8 inside the Big12. “He’s not going to do more with less”. What? His #1 WR Jauan Jennings just got WR3 money from the Vikings. His most productive playoff WR was DeMarcus Robinson. George Kittle went out in 1Q in Philly and yet SF still won. The SF WRs had literally zero separation in the Seattle playoff game. Brock operates behind a thoroughly avg OL and his star RB(CMC) avg under 3.5 ypc in 12 games last year. His defense had zero pass rush, tons of injuries at LB and a very young secondary and yet they still went 12-5 and upset the Eagles in Philly. 17th is insulting. 7th is more in line w/reality.
