Unpopular opinion, but Nikhil Kamat's podcast is way more interesting and knowledgeable than Ranveer Allahbadia's and Raj Shamani's podcast

On real estate, 10% is the dividing line. If your house price>10%, you will pay less tax post Budget. Otherwise more tax. Why? Because indexation is gone. RBI House Price data shows sub-10% growth in most cities. So most people will pay MORE tax. Story by @apri_sharma livemint.com/money/personal…

My father's diabetes tablets were priced at 52 rupees in December 2023. After that, the price increased to 58 rupees, then 68 and yesterday, he bought them for 82 rupees. Can anyone tell me how much the prices have increased in percentage since December? What is this inflation?

@anurag_das2015 I don't think you're qualified for a PhD in anything if you think the weather stays the same throughout the year.

Stepping out of Bengaluru Airport, the air outside is almost as pleasant as AC. In July. Compare it with the open-air sauna that is Kolkata, which leaves you drenched in sweat in minutes. I am now willing to do a PhD. in Kannada, if it means I can stay here forever.

@anuhariharan Agreed, Over 15% of the world population are Indians, so every airport in all countries should have 1 security check line out of 10 for Indians only.

50% of the population is women but there is exactly ONE lane for security check for women (out of at least 10 lanes) at the Mumbai airport.

Achaar is not pickle. English doesn't have a word for achaar. Achaar is a glorious explosion of flavours. A pickle is a depressed cucumber that drowned in vinegar. They are not the same.

Technically ur right - anything is possible E.g..wth quantum compute, i can decrypt any level of encryption, with lab level tech n plenty of resources, i can hack any digital hardware/system incldng flight controls of a glass cockpit of a jet etc etc. But thats a different type of a conversatn from EVMs being secure n reliable vis a vis paper voting. And we can agree to disagree 👍🏻

This is a huge sweeping generalization statement that implies no one can build secure digital hardware. Wrong. @elonmusk 's view may apply to US n other places - where they use regular compute platforms to build Internet connected Voting machines. But Indian EVMs are custom designed, secure and isolated from any network or media - No connectivity, no bluetooth, wifi, Internet. ie there is no way in. Factory programmed controllers that cannot be reprogrammed. Electronic voting machines can be architected and built right as India has done. We wud be happy to run a tutorial Elon 😁
Elon Musk@elonmusk

We should eliminate electronic voting machines. The risk of being hacked by humans or AI, while small, is still too high.

If you are doing an SIP, use UPI AutoPay. Why? 1) Immediate approval. Low rejection rate vs NACH 2) No SIP bounce charges 3) You get a pre debit notification Up to Rs 1 lakh per day allowed. Who loses? The bank If your platform/distributor doesn't offer UPI SIP, ask why.

@ActusDei @ActusDei the charges of NPS tho could've been made more streamlined don't you think? the POP etc levy charges for each contribution and also an annual fee. I don't think this is accounted for in the expense ratio which the PF takes.

While travelling from Mumbai to Pune for judicial work, Naigaon LA1 API Balbhim Nanavare found a suspicious guy travelling with an 8 year old girl in train. To avoid suspicion, the kidnaper was offering food & toys to the minor resulting in the girl happily travelling with him. While inquiring, the guy started behaving more suspiciously, so API asked the contact details of the minor’s parent. After contacting her relatives, he got to know that the girl hasn’t returned from the school and the guy travelling along is not known to her. Acting swiftly, API Nanavare along with fellow travellers and Railway Police caught hold of the kidnapper & handed him over to Pune Railway Police. The case has been registered at Valiv Pstn. #AlwaysOnDuty

It's better to say that I don't want to invest in psu stocks than to say that psu stocks don't make money. In the end the markets humble everyone.

I've stayed quiet on the appropriation of my work because I think @HumansOfBombay shares important stories, even if they've monetized far past anything I'd feel comfortable doing on HONY. But you can't be suing people for what I've forgiven you for.

See you around lil guy 👋 The Pragyan rover has completed all its mission objectives and has been put into sleep mode by ISRO to give it the best chance at surviving the Lunar night. 🛌 It has been parked at a safe spot, its instruments turned off and solar panel carefully oriented to receive maximum sunlight at the time of next sunrise on 22 September. Here's hoping that come the 22nd of Sept. Pragyan will be back online talking to @isro! #Chandrayaan3 #ISRO
