@terrajobst I think it was the textbook for my compiler course in college, don’t remember the book much but I think it was probably good. But you’ve written your own compiler, right? Not sure the book would be too useful for you.

@MStrehovsky What settings do you need to get this size? I'm getting 11 MB for a hello world app with PublishSingleFile and PublishTrimmed on RC2.

Size of fully self-contained natively-compiled Hello World over the course of .NET 7 previews. This is release build with everything left on default settings, producing a standalone EXE you can just copy to a machine and run. Hello World now under 3 MB by default with PublishAot.

@Nick_Craver @xoofx @eble Click Show All Files in solution explorer, and you'll get a little "Imports" node added to your project that shows all of the props and targets being imported, in tree form. Only for SDK-style projects though.

Look at @YouTube protecting Russian propagandists. They've deleted 60 of my videos this morning. For those who preferred to watch and share my videos from there, sorry about that. Try to watch as soon as I post, because YouTube is likely to delete, to protect the Kremlin's image.

@kzu @aarnott @klose_to I'm not ignoring it, it sounds to me like you can still lose your lose your life savings if you forget or lose the seed phrase and the device (or if someone steals both)

@aarnott @klose_to No, I'm not. If you can get a replacement then it seems like some other entity also has access to your keys.

@dsplaisted @klose_to Are you familiar with the security features of hardware wallets? I'm not afraid of losing my funds in the event it's stolen or lost. I'd just buy a new one.

@aarnott @klose_to I don't want to lose my life savings if I lose a physical object (or it's stolen). I *want* to use the bank. Also if everyone starts using hardware wallets then I bet trying to steal them would be more common, and then what are you going to do, put it in a safe in the bank?

@dsplaisted @klose_to Life savings should go into hardware wallets, which IMO are already there. But user education needs to improve.

@aarnott @klose_to I don't think computer security will ever get to the place where the average person should hold their own keys which give irreversible access to their life savings.

@dsplaisted @klose_to For now, that's probably the right call for most people. But I pine for the day when that changes.

@klose_to The only safe thing to do is be your own bank. I hope crypto matures, stabilizes and that people get comfortable with it (and hold their own keys) so it becomes the new normal.

@dotMorten Possibly something in the MSBuild Extras SDK not handling the TargetPlatformMinVersion properly

Removing the extra targets does give some indication that it is trying to reference the wrong thing TFM:

Any MSBuild experts who understands why this doesn't work? And why removing min-version from dependent project "fixes" the problem?

@terrajobst @runfaster2000 No, to reduce breaking changes it only takes effect when targeting .NET 7 or higher
