IEYDA Raises Concerns Over Alaafin’s Visit to Ilorin Emirate Communities, Urges Respect for Traditional Protocols The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has expressed concern over the recent visit of the Alaafin of Oyo to communities within the Ilorin Emirate, describing it as a breach of established traditional protocols. In a statement jointly signed by its National President, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin and made available to Just Event Online TV, the association alleged that the visit to Shao and Jebba communities in Moro Local Government Area occurred without prior notification or approval from the Emir of Ilorin. IEYDA described the development as a disregard for the authority and position of the Emir of Ilorin, who also serves as Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Emirs, Obas and Chiefs. The group further characterised the visit as an intrusion into the Emirate’s domain, stressing that established customs require due consultation and adherence to protocol before such engagements can take place. According to the association, it could not recall a similar instance where the Emir of Ilorin or any other traditional ruler visited territories under the Alaafin without proper notification, warning that such actions could generate unnecessary tension, particularly in communities with sensitive traditional structures. The association, however, called for calm and urged relevant authorities, including the Kwara State Government led by Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Oyo State Government under Seyi Makinde, and security agencies to intervene and prevent any escalation. IEYDA emphasized the need for mutual respect among traditional institutions, noting that Kwara State and the Ilorin Emirate are historically known for peaceful coexistence. While advocating dialogue and understanding, the group urged the Alaafin to exercise caution in future engagements to avoid actions that could strain inter-community relations. The association reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, and stability, adding that it has continued to counsel restraint among youths in the Emirate despite growing concerns. IEYDA called on all stakeholders to act responsibly in the interest of maintaining harmony and preventing avoidable disputes.

Here is my youngest sister, Rukayat Ayoni Lawal. She was kidnapped on Monday, 13 April 2026, in Kogi State, Nigeria, on her way to Abuja. She remains in the harsh and harrowing custody of the kidnappers until this night of Day 7. We are working on a flier that carries detailed information about her. I will post the flier tomorrow. My heart is heavy and breathing very fast doing this 💔 💔 💔. My eyes are blurry and saturated. Thank you for your care and concern.

TROOPS DISRUPT TERRORISTS’ SUPPLY ROUTE, INTERCEPT COURIERS WITH AMMUNITION IN KOGI STATE Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, over a span of three months have intensified a series of operations and intelligence driven efforts aimed at cracking down on terrorists and dismantling their logistics supply networks within the operational environment. In one of such operations, troops deployed along Road Jamata–Owara in Lokoja Local Government Area on 29 March 2026, intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics courier riding a motorcycle. Troops further carried out an intensive search on the motorcycle which revealed it had been specially modified with a concealed compartment for the covert conveyance of ammunition, in addition to other items. Preliminary findings further established links between the suspect and known terrorist elements, leading to follow-on operations. Following the arrest of high-profile terrorist ammunition courier, Mathew Elisha (alias Nasara), who had been on security watch lists, troops of the Brigade recorded another operational success by intercepting two suspected terrorists’ logistics couriers and recovering a large cache of ammunition in Kogi State. The operation which was conducted on 20 April 2026, followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists’ logistics elements within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility. Acting swiftly on the report, troops deployed at Response Area Oshokoshoko mounted a snap checkpoint along Road Obajana–Kabba in Lokoja Local Government Area. During the operation, troops intercepted a Toyota bus conveying the suspects en route Obajana from Makurdi. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the arrest of two suspected terrorists’ logistics couriers identified as Mallam Zubairu Abubakar and Adamu Abubakar Abdullahi. Further search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a sack containing 314 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition suspected to re establish their already dismantled network overtime and three AK-47 rifle magazines concealed behind the driver’s seat. Other items recovered from the suspects include two mobile phones, one driver’s licence, one National Identification Number slip, and an identity card. The suspects and recovered items have been handed over to 12 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation and necessary action. This successful interception underscores the vigilance and proactive posture of troops in denying terrorists freedom of movement and disrupting their logistics network within the operational environment. My youngest sister has been kidnapped 💔! She was kidnapped on Monday, 13 April 2026, on her way to Abuja to report for duties from Ogun State. We have not gotten precise information about where the incident happened. She reached us briefly around 12.am Wednesday, 15 April 2026, that she has been kidnapped since on Monday without details of who kidnapped her, why, and where she is before the phone was taken from her. Now, they have been calling me until this moment demanding N100 million naira. Where do I raise 100 million naira? I can't even raise 100 thousand naira. They are calling me with registered numbers. Our preliminary findings have it that this happened in Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria. I have been to three different police stations. One in Lagos and the two at Mowe and Redeemed Police stations. The police stations have no tracking system and that since there is no information about location, police said they can't work. I called police national PPRO. He said I should go and report it at the nearest police station after I had already reported. While trying to explain further, he ended the call and did not pick up my calls again until now. She remains in the harsh and harrowing den of the kidnappers until now. I do not want to lose my sister. She is a very young girl who is just starting life. Please rescue her alive, safely, and complete. @PoliceNG @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG_CRU @TunjiDisu1 @aleeygiwa @CspIniedu @NigAirForce @KogiPoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG @NuhuRibadu @officialABAT @aonanuga1956 @atiku @Brightgoldenboy @PeterObi @NGRPresident @NigeriaGov @BTOofficial @BolajiADC @davido @wizkidayo @DONJAZZY

Why is Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq so determined to impose Yakubu Danladi-Salihu as his successor? Is the Speaker really the only credible candidate from Kwara North or is this just about putting one of his “boys” there so he can keep control even after leaving office? Kwara North is full of seasoned, intellectuals, and leaders.!So why narrow it down to just one person? This move looks calculated pushing someone who has consistently aligned with the Governor without question. As Speaker, he presides over the House and plays an important role in approving government spending. That means every major financial decision of this administration has passed through him without resistance. So the real question is: is this about competence… or about continuing a system where nobody questions anything?

Nigeria has happened to me!!! 💔 💔 💔 Nigeria Police @PoliceNG has failed me. DSS @OfficialDSSNG is not saying anything. The Nigerian Army @HQNigerianArmy is not responding! Kidnappers are calling me nonstop! Is this how my sister will die?
