In other words, every paisa you leave behind for your kids has thoroughly been taxed. Multiple times over. Even the house you leave behind gets taxed every year. In what non-Maoist society, then, is inheritance tax ethical? I’m no CA so I could be wrong. Okay, so no wealth tax from 2016 onward. Great but in its stead, the “super-rich surcharge” is now 10% higher. Wealth tax used to be just 1%. Feel free to call it a “relief” if you will. But the question stands. How is inheritance tax ethical?

@Schandillia Not everyone gets taxed equally. LTCG is 10 pc and came into being very recently. Corp tax is lower than higher slab IT. Don't equate someone who hasn't done an honest day's of work with a salary earner paying 40 pc because of former's highway wali zameen.
