@LDLSkeptic @realDaveFeldman @nicknorwitz Thanks, you're a great guy responding to a random on X! I really appreciate it. I've listened to your long form interviews and presentations and always came away from it with more information.

Dave - @realDaveFeldman and @nicknorwitz have shown that you can move LDL-C up and down based on carbs in the diet. You've replicated their findings. Whether it has any effect on health outcomes is unknown, except with carb addition you may lose benefits of the keto diet. IMO, there's no empirical evidence to justify lowering LDL no matter how high it is.

@LDLSkeptic David, I went low carb previously for general health 2021-25 and LDL-C went to ~ 250 mg/dL. I since reintroduced whole food carbs, reduced fat, and LDL-C dropped to 130 mg/dL. If I have good health either way then mixed macros seems to make sense. Thoughts?

Ozempic users are eating less junk food and spending less on groceries. That's a satiety effect. GLP-1 drugs suppress appetite. But so does eating 30g of protein at breakfast. So does fiber. So does choosing whole foods over processed ones. The difference? One costs $1,000/month. The other costs $3 in eggs. We've medicalized what used to be common sense: eat food that fills you up.

@KonaDreamssssss @ItIsMikeFitz @tednaiman I don't think Dr Ted is suggesting anyone eats 10 lbs of watermelon, but instead conceptually is saying you're going to stop eating watermelon far before you've eaten too much food energy. However, many people could probably eat the whole bag of Cheetos while watching TV.

@ItIsMikeFitz @tednaiman Yeah.....good luck with that.... Eating a ten pound water melon for your 1400 calories we would flood your digestive system with water and sugar, causing intense stomach stretching, frequent urination, and severe gastrointestinal distress. 👍

There are no good foods and bad foods. Just high satiety per calorie foods and low satiety per calorie foods. When you view your food environment through that lens instead of moralizing food, I think you’re much more likely to stick to a diet that keeps you lean. @tednaiman

@DrEenfeldt @DietDoctor @JoinHava This is by far the saddest news I've seen. Hava has been a very important tool for me. And Ava has become something I rely on for ideas, advice, correction, etc. I'm in full panic mode, what I will do without it. I respect Dr. Eenfeldt. Any app suggestions for the meantime?

I have difficult news to share. After several challenging years, and a funding round we were unable to close, our company has been declared bankrupt. This is the company behind both @DietDoctor and @JoinHava. If you are a subscriber, I expect your first questions are about your subscription and whether the apps will keep working. Let me answer those directly (this message has also been emailed to all customers). Will the services keep working? Right now, yes. Diet Doctor and Hava are currently still running, and you can keep using them. But I can't guarantee how long. A bankruptcy trustee has taken over the company and will try to sell the apps and websites to a new owner who can keep them running. If a buyer is found quickly, you may not notice any change. If no buyer is found, the services will shut down, possibly very soon. I'll let you know if there's news, though I can't promise advance warning before any shutdown. Your subscription and billing To avoid being charged again for a service whose future is uncertain, you may cancel your subscription at any time. How you do that depends on where you signed up: - Apple App Store: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel there. - Google Play: open the Play Store app, go to Subscriptions, and cancel there. - If you signed up on our website, Hava.co or DietDoctor.com, log in there to cancel (for Diet Doctor, then go to your profile and click on “My membership”) Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We're also working on pausing any new charges due to the current uncertainty, but to be sure of not being charged, consider cancelling as described above. Refunds I'm not able to promise refunds as the trustee now controls the company's finances, and in a bankruptcy prepaid subscriptions generally cannot be refunded by the company. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you can request a refund directly from Apple or Google, who decide these case by case. The most reliable way to avoid further cost is to cancel. Your data We don't have an automatic way to export your data. If there's information in the app you'd like to keep, such as your weight history or notes, please save it manually while the service is still online, for example with screenshots. Once a service shuts down, that information may not be recoverable. A small ask If you happen to know a company or person who might want to take over DietDoctor.com, Hava.co, or the apps and keep them running for users like you, I'd be grateful if you put them in touch with me. My DMs are open. Thank you. Being trusted with people's health is a real privilege. I’m proud of what we built over the years and grateful you were part of it. I still believe, as strongly as ever, that there are better ways to reach metabolic health and a healthy weight than counting calories. Whether through lower-carb eating or a more flexible satiety approach, focusing on food quality tends to work better over the long term. I hope you carry some of that with you, whatever happens to the apps. I hope our services continue under a new owner. If they don't, I hope you got real value from them while they were here. If you have any questions, please reach out. Best, Andreas Eenfeldt Founder & CEO Diet Doctor, Hava

@DrEenfeldt @DietDoctor @JoinHava Oh no! Hava saved me. I found it 3 month ago when I was completely discouraged trying to find my way in the "health food" jungle and it really changed my life. What am I to do... I don't think I am capable enough to sort out all the "bad" from the "good" without the app 😭.
