@megbasham @jaysonyork Gee, I wonder what the first century church did. That is, before the separation of clergy and laity. Time to take off the training wheels.

Unpopular pastoral opinion: Losing the midweek gathering of the church and replacing it with “small groups” in homes on various nights has been a net negative for the fortification and mission of the church. There are positives, there are negatives. Overall, it’s been an L.

@ExnerPirot I can not believe you people. This is not the point. You need a reserve and you don't have one.

Canada doesn’t t have strategic oil reserves because we produce over 5 million barrels a day. Even if for some reason we built a large reserve, we wouldn’t have the pipeline capacity to get it to global markets. We have room for at most 250kbd more right now but they need refineries or tankers to have capacity to accept them. Great explainer on Canadian pipeline capacity and outlook here: oilsandsmagazine.com/market-insight…

Iran hit bases in Kuwait connected to Canadian personnel on March 1st, Canadians didn’t find out until today… not by the government, by the press. Mark Carney changed his stance on Trump’s military response approximately six times. Including after he knew about it. And now he’s off to Norway to talk about “middle power leadership” while the media applauds his “northern security vision.” You almost have to admire the confidence.

I want to correct something I said last night. The bombs thrown in New York City over the weekend by ISIS inspired attackers was thrown into a crowd of anti-Muslim protestors and not specifically targeted at Mayor Mamdani. That wording was inaccurate and I didn’t catch it ahead of time. I apologize for the error.

President Trump told CBS today the war with Iran could be over soon. As I told @davidgura at @business last week, two forces will ultimately shape how and when this ends: markets and munitions. Watch the oil, stock, and bond markets. And watch our supply of missiles (offensive and interceptors) and that of our regional partners. Expect a declaration of “victory” that trades one ayatollah for another.

@imelizabethlane Come on. You shouldn’t judge a president for trying to get off the news of the day. Charlie was his friend and my opinion is that he was and still is deeply hurting but as POTUS it must be tough to keep it together as you are still trying to make the wrong things right

I’m not very talented generally, but I’ve always had one skill. I can read people quickly. I usually see through their bullshit and recognize them for who they really are. I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve majorly f**ked up about someone. I should have seen who this asshole was when I watched this video. It’s crazy how your brain tricks you into believing what you want to believe. But better late than never. Reporter asks Trump: How are you holding up over the last day and a half, sir? (After Charlie's Assassination) His answer: I think very good. By the way, right there you see all the trucks, they just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House... This asshole betrayed everybody.

FIRST WAVE OF QUESTIONS You read these while I look for answers.... * Most of all, facts on the ground: What Iranian leaders are killed, do the people rise up, what kind of missile and proxy terror retaliation is Tehran capable of? * When do we next hear from Donald Trump, after his extraordinary overnight video statement? * How do the Democratic Party’s congressional leaders react? How do the rank and file react? * When are the first public opinion polls and what do they say? * When and how often does the executive branch brief the co-equal legislative branch on the operation? * Are there war powers votes in Congress next week? * What do Putin and Xi think about this for real? * How will this impact Ukraine-Russia peace talks? * When will the United Nations first convene to take this up? * Where does Marco Rubio spend the next seven days? * What U.S. and Israeli special ops are taking place on the ground right now and soon, completely in the shadows, a critical part of the operation that will not get news coverage (and in most cases will be absent even from the history books)? * What are the cyber elements of the attack? * How long will this operation last? * Without any boots on the ground, how many Americans in combat can actually be killed in this mission? How about civilians and military forces not in combat but in the region? * What new high tech systems and weapons is the United States using in the conflict (as in Venezuela), including what is likely to be the greatest deployment of military drones in the history of the world? * How effective will U.S. and Israeli missile defenses be? * How capable are the Iranians at this point of inflicting pain on the U.S., Israel, and allies? * What has the U.S. done already to secretly foment uprisings to encourage regime change -- and what will it do next in that regard? * Does the U.S. have a plan with the Shah’s son or anyone else that represents a best-case regime change scenario? * If the top of the current regime is killed or flees, who among the theocratic leaders or military or security forces will step into the vacuum? * How much will daily life in Tehran and around the country be completely disrupted and for how long? * How long will it take A-level TV news anchors to get into studios and on the air? To be continued…

@philvischer Yes. It’s shocking that his doctrinal understanding is weak. Excellent insight, Phil. Also shocking: in a two hour speech touting massive success for our nation, the only line you found intriguing is that one.

Strong words from historian Rodney Stark: "For too long, historians have accepted the claim that the conversion of the Emperor Constantine caused the triumph of Christianity. To the contrary, he destroyed its most attractive and dynamic aspects, turning a high-intensity, grassroots movement into an arrogant institution controlled by an elite who often managed to be both brutal and lax.” – Rodney Stark in "For the Glory of God." I like to say that it fundamentally changed our missiology and ecclesiology.

From Pew Research. It appears we may be on our way out of cognitive dissonance and back to reality. Still, for this struggle to be most visceral among the group that claims to ground its ethics in Scripture, this is troubling.
