@SonicLabs Because everyone gets rug pulled and the community is dead already. Maybe you should take a look at what happened after LayerZero and reflect on your actions after Multichain exploit.

Respect for the transparency. You’re hitting on challenges we’ve seen businesses at your scale run into when real-world traffic meets the blockchain. Our team has been heads-down with leaders across the space on how an L1 can fine-tune the execution environment around what serious apps actually need: settlement certainty, predictable costs, and business-specific tooling. Polymarket is the clearest example of a system that needs web2 reliability on web3 rails. Quick thoughts from the chain side: Latency: Sonic finalizes in ~500ms, deterministically. No probabilistic confirms, no reorgs. Your “near-instant” target is already reality on an L1 stack. ~10k TPS sustained, sub-second single-slot finality, ~$0.0001 average fees. Chain migration: Doors are open, and we’re actively making bespoke improvements for serious teams. Most chains slow down as throughput climbs; Sonic is designed to get faster under high load. Cancelled transactions: At your scale, this is a throughput and execution problem. Sonic’s headroom removes the congestion vector. Deterministic finality removes the reorg vector. Your CLOB shouldn’t be dropping orders because the chain can’t keep up. Cheap gas, instant finality, battle-tested uptime, and native USDC are default. Prediction markets need reserved capacity for market makers, gasless user flows, protocol-native atomic batching, and app-critical transactions that still land when volume spikes. Would love to compare notes with your tech team on what Polymarket’s real-world throughput has taught you, and where we can build to support it. DMs open 🫡

This is my 3rd week as VP of Engineering DeFi at @Polymarket , and I'm going to be straight: the traction @Polymarket has seen has massively outpaced our infrastructure, and we haven't done nearly enough to scale to keep up. I hear you, and fixing this is our entire focus. We're a major company now, and we need to engineer like one. Here's exactly what we're doing: - Onchain data latency. We're working on making this near-instant so the experience is incredible. - Chain migration. We need more block space, cheaper gas and much smaller block times so settlement is instant. - Transactions are getting cancelled. We understand this is one of the most frustrating issues right now, and we have a complete fix coming very soon. - Massive focus on the website to make it faster, more responsive, and with better UX. - We added observability everywhere. Proper alerting so we catch issues ourselves, market makers should not be the ones telling us something is down. That's been unacceptable, and we know it. - E2e tests throughout, starting with the CLOB, so issues get caught in CI before anything ships. - CLOBv2 is not a rewrite. It won't improve performance or stability on its own; it's an upgrade that unlocks us to move fast right after. We'll do better with communication next time. - We are rebuilding the CLOB from the ground up. Most important thing we're doing. Without it, we can't be the best DeFi exchange in the world. We know it, we're on it, it's mission critical. - Unified TypeScript SDK for all APIs, which is shipping soon. - Unified API. One WS connection for everything, with a schema that's actually readable. - New Polymarket contract in the works that unlocks things that are simply impossible on the current protocol. - New hires: Head of QA Automation, Head of Dev Tooling, Head of Internal Tooling, Head of Data Engineering. - Smaller, dedicated teams. Fewer focus points per person, clearer ownership. People do what they're good at and are accountable for it. - Working closely with customer support to give them real debugging tools so any user issue gets properly diagnosed, not lost. - Proper communication with marketing and market makers so everyone knows what's coming and when, and MM can submit feature requests with a clear path to get them into engineering and shipped. - Working with 4 security teams daily to ensure we're super secure and that funds are always safe. - Perps incoming. Brand new contracts and a backend built from scratch in Rust. We're proud of this one. - A lot of other fixes are running in parallel right now. Starting next Friday, I will be posting weekly engineering updates. I joined because I genuinely believe in what @Polymarket is trying to do. @shayne_coplan built this so the world has somewhere to go to find out what's actually going to happen, not what the media thinks, not what a pundit says, but what thousands of people are willing to put money on. But right now, our engineering isn't living up to that. We've let people down, and I'm not going to dress that up. I came here to fix it, and that's exactly what we're going to do. The next few months are going to speak for themselves. Stay with us.

Welcome to the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ), a framework for synchronously composable rollups. What does that mean? One deployment. Shared liquidity. Single transactions across L1 & L2. Identity verified anywhere. Smart wallets connected everywhere. No additional trust assumptions. This means L2s that are as credibly neutral, economically aligned, and publicly governed as the base layer itself. EEZ furthers Ethereum as the leading decentralized economy.

@michaelfkong @DoubleyouW3 It’s not about FTM vs S, it’s about how you treat your the community and earliest supporters. What have done for Multichain victims? What help did they get except being told to blame themselves and banned from dc? It was the only way to bridge to FTM back then, and what they got?

I miss $FTM $S was and is a disaster Too much greed and arrogance from the team led its downfall. When you are always listening to the same people and working to benefit the same centralised group of people the chain won’t grow I hope they admit they went wrong and restart Fresh I don’t YAP for money so I can be honest

Q2 2025: Sonic Quarterly Wrap-Up. A quarter of progress through tough macro headwinds as BTC dominance pushes >64%. Covering results of our Q2 targets: - On the institutional front, we secured a strategic $10m investment from Galaxy and supported the launch @sonic_strategy (third-party) which is moving fast into US and Canadian markets. We continue to push hard to position Sonic at the intersection of TradFi and crypto as these worlds converge. - FeeM adoption continues. We now have ~200 Apps in the program which is a great sign. Although no App surpassed 500k S yet and the total earnings remain just under 2m S (~1.7m S today). After direct conversations with builders, I'm confident the launch of Dynamic Fees (letting devs set their own gas prices), will unlock FeeM's full potential. Some strategies we've heard from devs to increase their revenue through the dynamic fees and FeeM have been very encouraging. Network growth markers remain strong: - Over 200,000 contracts have now been deployed (at ~100,000 last quarter). - A new onchain ATH TPS was achieved again reaching 2,325 tx/s (1,542 was previous quarter). @chainspect_app - Cumulatively, the network has now processed >110 million transactions. - TVL has come down to $580m, to be expected in change of macro sentiment and lining up with our reworking of the Season 2 airdrop to target revenue/loyalty over bloated vanity metrics. More highlights from Q2 include: - Native USDC live (including multiple CEX listings and more lined up) - Coinbase listing of $S - Successful Sonic Summit @ Vienna (watch Bernhard talk if you haven't already here youtube.com/watch?v=OHyPRG…) - Amazing new content coming from @miumiuqin Looking forward to Q3: We are focusing on App revenue and user loyalty with the Season 2 airdrop design. Big shoutout to @YJN58 for driving the strategies around this shift. Investing within our ecosystem (You may have seen a small start to this onchain) and finding more Sonic builders to dominate the entire industry. There are a lot of amazing teams out there! Expanding east into Asia markets with our upcoming Korea events this month and our Sonic Summit Singapore event later this year. Testing optimal revenue models with FeeM and Dynamic Fees for builders. (Update coming soon). More distribution points for the network (onramps / Sonic stablecoin CEX listings and tradfi exposure) We're getting weeks' worth of progress in days at the current pace. Shoutout to @michaelfkong and @SonicAssistant and the entire team for the non-stop grind. Sonic is the platform to make your App succeed.

@econoar @TrustlessState Exactly, the problem is we need more users. It doesn’t matter if L1 is scaled to a million time faster if no one is going to use it. The real problem is why should people even use blockchains?

@TrustlessState bring users back to L1? Is this a joke? It’s not a zero-sum game, the goal is to bring more users onchain, and what we need is a killer application, not fighting for the minimal amount of users we have right now

I mispoke when I said "We need to fix $ETH value accrual for for-profit enterprises to be able to economically align with Ethereum." What Ethereum actually needs is users. Put more users on the L1. Fight with its own L2s for users. Scale the L1 get users and ETH price will follow

People burning out trying to figure what Bankless solved long ago 1. Combine educational content and a for-profit media business 2. Scale the company to acquire top talent and resources 3. Leverage those resources toe-to-toe with the Bitboys and the 2019 Pomplianos If your curious as to why Bankless doesn't focus on Ethereum as much anymore, check the Ethereum dominance metric. Ethereum businesses stop being viable when Ethereum stops dominating as an ecosystem. We need to fix $ETH value accrual for for-profit enterprises to be able to economically align with Ethereum. Otherwise its just charity and vibes.
