In fact, though there are other issues, one of the big drivers of the skyrocketing premiums are the skyrocketing hospital prices Naturally, this is yet another realm where Trump has tried to do some good and the vultures responded by refusing to follow the new law. Instead of price transparency--a basic fact of life for pretty much every other service--they've kept prices hidden behind their opaque and bureaucratic walls while consistently raising them all the higher So, now hospital prices haven't just risen by over 250% since the beginning of this century, well more than the official rate of inflation, as I have posted about before, but are actively breaking the law to keep those raised prices hidden, and so they can thus be sprung on patients It's infuriating, and Congress needs to step in. The Trump Admin has done what it can, with executive orders, CMS rule changes, and pressuring of the medical industry. But Congress is needed, particularly to add enforcement mechanisms with teeth, and force transparency on the predatory system
