My dad HVAC business went from $1m to $1.7m to $2.4m to ~3m revenue the past 4 years. Primarily home and small business installs, not much commercial work. Anyone got any idea what kind of exit could that get in Northern Virginia?

How on one side of the coin they say regular season doesn't mean anything, yet, the glaring problems special teams showed for years which is ultimately why they keep failing. When it counts.

Been going back & forth on whether the Avs should fire Bednar. I’m done. He should stay. Can you not close your eyes and picture this exact squad winning the Cup? I can... Core still here? Yup... Window closed? Nope... Better coach lined up? Doubt it... Something’s broken in the playoffs… but there’s far more right than wrong.

Damn shame nobody else in the avs organization saw the writing on the wall. If they made the right decision last year or the year before, there were great coaches avail.

Anyone advocating for Roy as head coach is not serious as well.

This core built around mackinnon will continue to fail. Mackinnon needs to adapt his game to his age and ability. He isn't beating guys consistently anymore

@robpizzola @Crashdavis565 Colorado didn't skate hard enough or battle enough. Gotta get pucks behind and win some battles. Avs only played maybe 2 full periods out of 4 games that matched the intensity required to do so. Mackinnon giving up on every play in the corners lost this series

Pretty crazy how fast playoff opinions can move. Vegas got outchanced by Anaheim in round 2 (48% xGF over 6 games). Needed 6 to beat Utah in a series where their peripherals looked fine but the eye test was rough. Now they sweep Colorado and they're a juggernaut. Remember this is also a 39-win regular season team. Same number of wins as San Jose. SIX non-playoff teams won more games than Vegas this year. They're a different team under Tortorella but let's pump the brakes a bit before crowning them. There's something to getting hot at the right time. That's real. But it's also worth looking at the full picture before assuming the version of this team you're watching now is the version you'll get in the Cup finals.

@Baldarotta33 Coaches need to hold guys accountable. Just for the fact he is putting mackinnon and that PP1 90% of time is just infuriating. Pp2 makes more chances in the 12 seconds they get than pp1 did all year. Mack has been so irresponsible on special teams he needed to be benched

If Bednar ends up falling on the sword for this debacle, it will be a prime example of players letting down their coach. Unlike other sports, in hockey, there's only so much a coach can give to their players for them to be successful. It's up to those on the ice to execute those things properly. So much of the discourse on here has been about his failure to make adjustments. Inside of a hockey game, there are truly no adjustments that can be made. I guarantee that Bednar did not go into the locker room after the first tonight and "make the adjustment" to just stop doing everything that was working so perfectly. This is where the "new voice" argument could come in. If the message is going in one ear and out the other, then, yes, a change is necessary. But, that's also a player issue #GoAvsGo

Yeah in a perfect world I agree. The wages would grow to meet the cost of inflation. But unlike you I live in the real world and I know that wages have not been increasing to meet the cost of inflation. Not even close. In fact they are going down because they're being undercut by the government importing mass labour forces from india AND subsidizing them. So in short, fuck you boomer.

There is a massive generational disconnect between the boomers and the millenials and Gen Z. This is happening everywhere. All the boomers sre screaming that it's because we buy 10 dollar lattes or door dash 16 dollar tacos for 30 dollars. The truth is that the boomers are just coping. Most of us aren't doing that and we're still underwater. Even those of us with good jobs. The tacos shouldn't be 16 dollars. The delivery fees should not 15 dollars. Groceries should not be costing us several hundreds of dollars per week, McDonalds for 2 adults and one child should not be 60+ dollars. The system is broken and it's only getting worse and the boomers refuse to actually face REALITY.

The problem is that heterosexual monogamy is no longer an attractive option for men When a man finally grows up, he realizes that he's just one powerless individual in a world of billions of other men. He will never achieve the dominion that his will-to-power craves. So (in the past) he instead settled for the minor dominion of Patriarchy: dominion over his small corner of the world, his wife and children and family. Here he can exercise agency, here he can Make A Difference, here he can Leave His Mark But that's not an option for him anymore. Instead, a man is now submitting to female dominion (literally, by law) when he marries and has children, or even if he just maintains a monogamous relationship without marriage or children. It's the opposite of what he wants (also the opposite of what women want, fwiw) Civilization *is* Patriarchy. They're one and the same
