My feminist take for today is that we need to interrogate our ‘feminist’ opinions often to see where they converge with misogyny.
Hint: if you spend more time judging other women's choices than advocating for equality, your chances of circling back to misogyny are higher.

Joe Biden did these type of things every single day, on a much greater scale. Mamdani is a competent technocrat doing normie Dem things to make government work better. And I commend him for it, just like Biden.

This is a side effect of the higher rates of social isolation among Gen Z. It's not pointed out much but envy (or Nietzsche's "ressentiment") is a powerful driver of social culture and politics, up to and include sexual envy that manifests on the surface as "puritanism".

The 2009 Dem supermajority was a consequence of Dems having a very, very big tent in 2006 and 2008 after the trauma of losing in 2004. Once they actually had to try to have a coherent governing agenda, oh boy. Things fell apart in a hurry.

The Obama 2009 Senate supermajority might be the fakest supermajority ever. It lasted only 72 working days while the Senate was in session, due to Franken being seated late and Ted dying. And it was full of 2009-era red-state conservadems that make 2021 Manchin look like AOC.

Biden fumbled a lot of foreign policy issues but pulling out of Afghanistan was his best act as president. No way to lose in a clean way, you just have to rip the band aid off. Obama was too deferential to his experts. Biden had the backbone to say "I don't care".

The reason the American Revolution had results so different from every other revolution is that, properly speaking, the "American Revolution" wasn’t a revolution at all, it was a provincial rebellion. That is, it wasn’t a centralizing cadre dissolving and replacing the social order by means of violence directed from the core, it was a province breaking its allegiance to the capital while leaving the existing social structures basically intact.

Just realized the Nancy Guthrie case was never resolved at all, she went missing 54 days ago and they have no leads whatsoever.
Is there any precedent for this? There was a legitimate media frenzy over this, their whole block was taken over by press and then just... nothing.
