Unpopular opinion: Austin is already a tier 1 and people just haven’t realized it yet At least two reasons in this photo

In the same way gay porn keeps straights out of gay spaces, Chive TV keeps gays out of straight spaces

A trolley is about to hit 5 people laying on the track You can redirect the car, but the other track has not yet reached regulatory approval or completed its 1 year environmental testing period, so operating a train car on it is a violation of transit regulations What do you do?

@JenRobichaux Look at QTed picture. I’m not sure what is being preserved. I’d question city council if this didn’t go through

If the Austin City Council does not vote against the Dog Head development and send it back through the boards and commissions for proper vetting, they will lose all credibility with residents. Endeavor is planning this development with zero regard for the current residents or the environment. The Dog Head neighborhood isn't even part of the city of Austin. The people affected aren't Austin taxpayers - they live in the extra territorial jurisdiction of Travis County. Yet the decision at City Hall today could change their lives forever. The testimony today is deeply troubling. Residents who have shown up to speak have only learned about this development in the last couple of days. One man said that he was surprised to learn this week that the developer plans to run a trail *through his living room*. He's only one of the many affected residents and many many more of the residents in this community have no clue that their homes are going to be sold out to developer interest.
ATX data@data_atx

This 'dogs head' development east of Austin could be huge. 1 developer owns the whole thing. Its basically the size of downtown north of town lake to 38th street, between mopac and 35. Gigantic. They are discussing it at next council meeting, could involve 2 new bridges over the river , many thousands of housing units, mixed use, no height limit.

> 2,600 acres > Bounded by water on 3 sides > 5 miles from downtown Austin > Directly adjacent to planned Green Line This is possibly the best place to build a new neighborhood from scratch in all of Texas. LET’S FREAKING BUILD

Everybody wants to complain about how expensive fire island is, but nobody wants to be a gay pioneer and shake ass in Galveston, TX

@dunkin_nyc "gay pioneers" have been "shaking ass" in Galveston since the 70's. I should know... I was one of them, gleefully counting "TWIT" (This Week in Texas) bumper stickers all the way down I-45 Splash Day Mardi Gras Stewart Beach

@dunkin_nyc Or take South Padre Island from the straights - still closer than Fire Island, but nicer beaches than Galveston
