The whole concept of selling merch while making the show is such a great idea! If people love it, they will buy such products and the returns will definitely help fund more episodes. With indie animation still being a bit limited, merch sales are a good way to go. It's a way to keep interest in the product and satisfy loyal fans who would love a plushie of their favorite character. TADC started out with that and now they have freaking Nendoroids and Figmas of some of the characters! Those "fans" are probably communists who hate the idea of others making money because "MUH CAPITALISM". Don't ever make content for such people.
