It really seems to act as a defense against modernistic vibes-based christianity. Humbling yourself before scripture and accepting what IS written instead of what you WANT TO BE written. respect

Im a non denominational Evangelical currently and am lucky enough to have a church that is generally biblical, I do however watch content from orthodox and catholic and see a huge issue with the Protestant denominations where it has lead many to deny parts or the whole bible completely. Ive been told orthos and caths differ from nation to nation but they seem far more united than any Protestant church imo

yup, debate or discussion is not "one upping". A small deviation in angle can create quite the chasm over time/distance, and unfortunately (some, not all of) those deviations have led us to our current ideological problems. Make no mistake everyone has a philosophy/ideology, some are just more aware of it than others. We all stand on the shoulders of giants, some of us just like to check our footing. Christ is King
