@xmuse_ The first thing that came to mind was the Imperial ship of the Herald of the Change from Dune (2021).

@sunnylohmann Oh yes. I see it when I visit my folks in the small town where they live, which they’ve had close connections to for decades.

should be done before Cæsar's birthday July 12/13th. more to say, but wondering which cover people like. I like the round - this is a rough draft and I'd probably crop the circle better.

@sunnylohmann I believe that one new outlet for narrative creativity is computer games. They can allow you to participate in a story instead of being an observer.

It's hard to get your head around how lost knowledge happens. How do people forget how to lay bricks tightly or build aqueducts? Why would they stop building them to the point they lost the ability to given how valuable that was to a decent life? It's so weirdly dumb it doesn't make any sense. Well, something is happening in entertainment and I'm worried we are losing the art of decent story telling. It wasn't that long ago that any new show coming out of HBO was a must see. Same with Netflix, although to a slightly lesser extent. They created the post-network TV market for television dramas. Network TV and movies are an obvious trash can of...what even is it?!? What happened? There are almost no good writers left in Hollywood. Where are they? Are they coming back? Are they washing dishes somewhere, unhirable because they are too interesting? Are they working in a different medium or market that is about to explode on the scene? Maybe the good writers are all just gone, dead and retired. Now there is no one to train the newcomers, who are so dumbed-down and politicized by the internet and schools anyway training them would be close to impossible. Just saw Last of Us episodes 1-3. I can't go on. Does it get better? It's so damn overdone, shallow, and hack.

@mcahogarth @USPS Was it in a box? Or something softer? Perhaps yours was crushed against the metal rim of one of those large parcel bins I see at the post office.
