It truly was not a stunt. I was there. The White House was rolling out the red carpet for new media. Briefings all day with Cabinet, principals, etc. We had to leave the building as Kier Starmer's people needed the room. (They were outside waiting, we ran overtime, it was not some chess play on us.) Bondi told us there wasn't anything new in the binders, but wanted to show us they were working on it. It was a gesture of goodwill. Then we went outside, and snap snap snap. Armies of photographers. Great example of the truth is stranger than fiction.
