Major cheat code for life: Be patient with yourself when you’re trying to become someone you’ve never been. You’ll feel lost, unsure, and tempted to quit. Don't. Change feels chaotic because your old self is fighting for survival. Expect it to be a battle. But also expect to win.

To find a mentor, you have to show yourself as somebody with the hunger to learn and excel. You have to show yourself as somebody who listens. Somebody curious. Somebody who is worth teaching. Somebody who is coachable.

I like quiet people. People who are simple, read books, can watch a 2 hour documentary about bees, are crazy smart, but still stay low-key and private.

5 reasons why you should go for it: - You’re gonna die. - Fuck your mood. Follow the plan. - The price of authenticity is being disliked. - Your new life will cost you your old one. - The only way out of uncertainty is through it.

If you’re a small business owner like me, remember, good friends will ask you for free stuff, GREAT friends will buy and support you. If you have a friend that is a small business owner, don’t ask them for free stuff. It may not seem like much to you, but trust me, every penny counts to a small business owner and giving away free stuff isn’t “free”, it still costs them money. Instead, buy and support them or at least offer to buy and let THEM offer to give you free product. I’ve had friends and family that I haven’t talked to in years message me telling me, not asking, but TELLING me to send them free @Taste_FlavorCo. I’ve also had a lot of friends and family buy TASTE without telling me til after they bought or texting me photos of their Taste order arriving and trust me, as a small business owner, THAT is the best feeling. Thank you to everyone here who has also supported me and TASTE! If you too are a small business owner please comment your business and let’s grow together!

FYI. Voice memos drive me crazy. They shift all the work from sender to receiver. You hit record and ramble for 3 minutes while I’m stuck listening with no way to skim. You’re trading YOUR efficiency for MY time, and if you keep choosing your convenience over mine, don’t be surprised when I stop opening your messages altogether.

It’s very rare that someone does not become better by surrounding themselves by great people. Socially. Professionally. Spiritually. It’s very common that a potentially great person is ruined by not-so-great influences.

I'm so sick of authentication in 2025. I spend no less than 30 minutes a day authenticating to services. Passkey is awful, yubikey has gotten replaced by it, we havent removed the infinite OTP flows, corporate SAML is a tire fire. This thing needs completely gutted.

Loved this 6 hour conversation between @lexfridman and @dhh. Listened to the whole thing on a long drive this weekend. It's well worth it. It's also nice to see so many people discovering the David I know — whip smart, energetic, persuasive, funny, reflective, self-aware, reasonable, and principled. A gifted linguist as well. Watching this interview reminds me how fortunate I've been — and am — to build a company, a team, many products, many books, and plenty of ideas together. So many experiences of a lifetime. What a run, and we ain't done!

Here's my 6 hour conversation with @dhh, a legendary programmer, creator of Ruby on Rails, author, and race car driver. This was a fun and inspiring conversation on everything from the future of programming & AI to the nature of happiness & productivity to the value of family, getting married and having kids. X limits video length to 6 hours. So this full convo doesn't fit (by a few minutes). So, the first 6 hours are here on X. The full version is up everywhere else (see comment). @KirbyCheatFurby I was 13 when it came out and it was as incredible as you imagine. The fully 3D world and the controller were unlike anything you could experience elsewhere. It was a truly special game.

i don't know how to describe it, but something about super mario 64 feels like... ethereal. otherworldly. it's got a very odd feeling to it compared to other 3D mario games, like you're stepping into another dimension when you play it it must have been CRAZY for a kid in 1996

Evie and I are excited for the first new Nintendo console in 9 years! The price of progress I suppose, but I do miss the old days of N64 where you were playing within minutes. Switch 2 greets you with hours of setup and downloads to get started.
