“Tennessee shines at the top of the rankings in today’s Education Scorecard release, as public schools have achieved the rank of #1 state in the nation in math proficiency increases and the #3 state in reading proficiency increases from 2022-2025." My latest for the @realDailyWire “New York City operates the nation’s most expensive public schools, and they are empty. The underenrollment problem is getting worse. Last year, 112 city schools had fewer than 150 students; this year, that number has risen to 134.”

"Families shouldn't lose out on resources just because of where they live or what party their governor belongs to." -@Jorge_Elorza in @jasonrileywsj's latest. School choice is winning, and Democratic governors are starting to notice. wsj.com/opinion/school…

On the heels of a study showing students of color in Indiana charters making dramatically more progress than their peers post-pandemic, new Stanford data shows a dismal trend line for district schools in Indy's city-center. We should have no patience for the status quo. None.

Opinion: Charter schools are now an enduring part of American K-12 public education. The real question is what the next phase of chartering should aim to achieve buff.ly/S09uKDi

I've learned so much from listening to Angela Watson. She sneaks up on all your past priors and disassembles them before you can even notice. This is a really fun watch.

We've been urging Democratic governors to opt in since the program’s inception, and the momentum is now undeniable. Billions in resources for students and families are on the table here, it's a no-brainer!

We applaud @GovKathyHochul for her leadership. New York students and families could unlock more than $1.5B annually in new education support. As the largest Democratic-led state to act, New York sends an unmistakable signal to every blue-state governor still on the sideline.

Lots of parents contacting me and asking if they would qualify for the Federal Scholarship program now that Governor Hochul said NY will opt in. Here are the income requirements for all NY counties so you can see if your family is eligible. If you live in NY County, you are eligible if your annual income is below $309,000 per year. families4newyork.com/p/would-my-chi…

Last year there were 112 schools in @NYCSchools projected to have fewer than 150 students. This year's projections have 134 schools with fewer than 150 students. Most of these schools are not financially viable and will be financed by NYC taxpayers with additional funds. The PEP needs to tackle this problem and close/ merge schools that NYC families are not choosing for their kids.
