I need to rant for a second. Randy recently released a game called Terrafactor. 3 of the 5 negative reviews are upset because AI was used to assist with programming. None of them mention anything about the gameplay. People who leave reviews like this are sad and pathetic.

This "Adaptive thinking" toggle in Claude is a huge downgrade. I want the model to use extended thinking all the time, and now there's no way to tell Claude to do this.

I started hating Opus 4.7 before I even tried it. Anthropic turned the adaptive thinking introduced in 4.6 into a mandatory setting, which means the system now gets to decide whether a paying user’s prompt is worth thinking about. That’s ridiculous. Second, the instant Opus 4.7 went live, Opus 4.5 was taken offline, when just a second earlier I was still mid-conversation with it. I think the adaptive thinking requirement in Claude Opus 4.7 is bad in the ways that all AI effort routers are bad, but magnified by the fact that there is no manual override like in ChatGPT. It regularly decides that non-math/code stuff is "low effort" & produces worse results.

@NathieVR stupid downgrade I have a feeling best work put on Quest is background services behind the scene, they get it consistently great. Things like typing by hand tracking in the air or on surfaces is mindblowing. radio streaming in the web browser while gaming is great. etc
