Cowboy Space has filed plans with the FCC for Stampede, a proposed 20,000-satellite orbital data center constellation. It’s smaller than the million-satellite system proposed by SpaceX, though still massive by historical standards: spacenews.com/cowboy-files-p…

SITUATION EXPLAINED: @CowboySpaceCorp (fka Aetherflux) raises $275M From founder @BaijuBhatt (prev co-founder of Robinhood): "Our mission is to power humanity from the high frontier." "The concept is about building data centers in space. You can use the stage mass, the actual structure of the upper stage of the rocket to do the job of data centers in space." "You can reuse that mass and volume for the radiator, where our concept calls for actually deploying out the fairing of the rocket as a big radiator." "By going with one monolithic satellite, which is the upper stage of the rocket, you get more GPUs that are interconnected." "So rather than distributing it out over a bunch of smaller satellites, the simplest way to kind of think about that is if you had two racks of GPU servers, one was in this building and one was in that building across the street, that strictly worse than them being in the same building." @emmysteuer

It's been 2+ years since S3 last featured @AstroMechanica — they've been quietly building a new vision of supersonic passenger travel. By building electric adaptive engines (efficient at every stage of flight) to reimagining airline economics itself, @ianbrooke and team's next step... is taking flight.

Doctors and scientists were convinced that the brain decays quickly when someone dies. But some researchers at Yale proved that everyone was wrong. They brought brains back many hours after death. This is the spectacular story of Bexorg. youtube.com/watch?v=IzUuvl…
