He was a top goalie when he signed his extension, had he played to that same level or even better again he’d have been at least $2-3m more expensive. It was a calculated gamble worth taking. He’s still paid below market value.

Duke would not have made it last year on the 23+1 format, which is the preferred model at this point. Top 23 ranked teams + highest ranked mid-major champ (if they aren’t already ranked in the top 24). Duke was not ranked in the final CFP rankings, therefore wouldn’t have made it.
