Minnesota has about $31 million below the 2nd apron, and only 9 roster spots are accounted for. Let's say Bones, Clark, Anderson, and Conley all sign for the veteran's minimum ($2.45 million against the cap). That would leave Minnesota with about $21 million to resign Ayo. Theoretically, that should be plenty and would equate to about a four-year, $90 million deal. The concern here is a team with cap space coming in and offering a 4-year, $ 100m+ deal. I'm sure Ayo is very open to staying in Minnesota, and that will count for something, but asking him to leave $10+ million on the table is enough to start bracing for Ayo's next contract not being with the Timberwolves. I think there's a good chance he'll be retained, but it's worth noting that some suitors can outspend Minnesota here.
