Just. Wow. As we went over Mexico and the U.S. this morning, I caught this sprite. Sprites are TLEs or Transient Luminous Events, that happen above the clouds and are triggered by intense electrical activity in the thunderstorms below. We have a great view above the clouds, so scientists can use these types of pictures to better understand the formation, characteristics, and relationship of TLEs to thunderstorms.

Contrairement à Amélie Oudéa-Castéra (@AOC1978), mes parents n'habitaient pas rue Stanislas, dans le prestigieux 6ème arrondissement de Paris. Pourquoi ? Parce qu'ils n'en avaient tout simplement pas les moyens. Non, mes parents habitaient à Bobigny en Seine-Saint-Denis (93). Alors quand il était question de où me scolariser, leur "choix de proximité" n'était clairement pas le même que celui de Madame la Ministre. Ils n'avaient pas le luxe de choisir entre le collège Stanislas ou l'Ecole Alsacienne. C'est naturel pour un parent de vouloir le meilleur pour ses enfants. Et si Madame la Ministre a jugé que scolariser ses enfants dans l'établissement privé Stanislas répondait à cet objectif, très bien. Mais justifier cela par un "choix de proximité" alors que plusieurs établissements publics sont présents à quelques minutes à pied, c'est trompeur. Et cela, d'autant plus quand on explique par la suite que ses enfants sont désormais "bien formés, heureux et épanouis". J'ai fait autant que possible ma scolarité dans des établissements publics, et j'ai été dans un collège en Zone d'Education Prioritaire (ZEP). Je peux vous assurer que les enseignants dans ces établissements font un travail formidable. Ils n'ont pas besoin d'être rabaissés par leur propre Ministre, alors qu'ils travaillent dans des conditions extrêmement difficiles. Et autant qu'ailleurs, ils ont à coeur de faire de leurs élèves des enfants "bien formés, heureux et épanouis".
