@MichaelPTKelly I work with young adults seeking recovery from addiction in kachin state myitkyina. We have adoration twice a week. It is their favorite time. In the middle of a war and the struggle of overcoming addiction, it is a time of rest in the loving, healing, forgiving presence of Jesus

A publicity-mad priest wrote recently that he thought Eucharistic Adoration was a “devotion of the past” - well, he should get out more and meet young Catholics from what I observe at Holy Thursday vigils all across Dublin tonight.

Humility of Heart: Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Yours. Free me from pride and self-importance. Teach me to serve without seeking recognition. Let humility open me to Your will and to the needs of others. Amen. dlvr.it/TRRVxq

It is disheartening to see today that the strength of international law and humanitarian law no longer seems binding, replaced by the presumed right to overpower others. This is unworthy and shameful for humanity and for the leaders of nations.

This painting of St Columban was presented to Bishop John La Sam, the new bishop of Myitkyina, as a gift from the Rebirth Rehab Center. St Columban is the patron of the Diocese. It was painted by one of our volunteers. We ask St Columban to intercede for peace in Myanmar.

I’ve had enough of the lies and conspiracy theories. I was attacked last year in February, that is a fact. Yet right-wing populists continue to spread the false narrative that it was faked or staged. Let me be absolutely clear: it was real, it was traumatic, and I’m done tolerating the smear campaign. I have hard evidence: –Testimony from witnesses. – Statements and records from the Gardaí who arrived at the scene. – Documentation of my hospital attendance immediately after the attack. – My dentist’s report and work repairing my chipped front teeth. – Photographs of my swollen, bruised face and visible dental injuries. So here’s my challenge: If anyone can provide real, verifiable evidence that the attack was staged or fake, I will personally pay them €20,000 and leave Ireland forever. But if you can’t (and you won’t), it’s time to stop hiding behind anonymous accounts, stop spreading lies, and face the truth. Enough is enough.

Thanks to donors to our work at the Rebirth Rehabilitation Center in Myitkyina, Kachinland, Myanmar. Despite all the difficulties we were able to send 3 people to Yangon for training to be chefs.

Home at last after a beautiful day celebrating Eid at Croke Park for the 6th time. A heartfelt thank you to the @officialgaa and everyone involved in making this event possible once again. We are truly honoured and privileged to be embraced in such a sacred venue. May God bless the souls who lost their lives here on Bloody Sunday: your memory lives on in our prayers and in the spirit of peace and unity that days like this embody. There were a few protestors who had travelled quite a distance to voice their opposition to Eid in Croke Park. I went out to greet them with peace and respect. I met Philip Dwyer and invited him to visit the Islamic Centre, offering to answer his questions and have an open conversation. Perhaps this will be the moment he begins to see that many of his beliefs about Islam and Muslims are simply not true. During the event, a woman began protesting during my speech by removing her hijab and Islamic attire. Everyone responded with quiet dignity, simply observing. I gently told her that had she reached out beforehand, she would have been welcomed so there was no need for disguise. (Though I must admit, she did look cute in the hijab!) I’ve since read she was reciting the rosary. Had I known, I would have invited her to share it on the microphone. Religious freedom is a right that belongs to all of us. Special thanks to the entire Croke Park team for their hard work and hospitality; what a success! 750 attendees, plenty of food, joy, GAA games, and heartfelt celebration. A touching gesture: I also received an email from local Croke Park neighbours apologising for the protest. It meant a lot. I love Ireland and the vast majority of Irish people are absolute amazing. 💚☘️ 🇮🇪 #EidInCrokePark #InterfaithHarmony #UnityInDiversity #LoveIreland #EidMubarak #crokepark

It was wonderful to be able to attend the Mass of inauguration of Pope Leo. I was especially moved when he prayed for Myanmar.

Before he was Pope Leo XIV, Robert Prevost had heard about 16-year-old Donal Walsh who was dying of cancer in the west of Ireland. He was so impressed by Donal's deep that he wrote him a letter offering to make him an honorary Augustinian. And two days before he died, Donal was sworn in. This is the story of a teenager whose courage and conviction inspired Ireland, and also a future Pope.

Have you considered that a mother in distress, refusing to accept her son's looming death and desperate to maintain his spirit in the face of a devastating illness, might push back against any sign that he required "last rites"? Doesn't mean she's a bad Catholic.

If you are faithful Catholics, why would you deny your son the grace of the final sacraments before he died, @FLOTUS & @JoeBiden? Source: firstthings.com/web-exclusives…
