@RichDecibels Bicycles are a great source of found sound. Turn a bike upside down, inset a microphone into the frame tubes and spin the rear wheel. You’ll get a sound with a pulse at the same tempo as the wheel spin. Get more samples from the rotating gear cogs, spokes etc. Make loops. Enjoy!

Pretty impressive for a reflex arc! GPT-4 prompt: What 7 questions, that if answers were found, would substantially reduce the risks to humanity from the metacrisis? Please state the output as 7 questions. GPT-4 response: 1. How can we develop sustainable solutions to combat climate change and reduce its severe impacts on ecosystems, economies, and societies? 2. What are the most effective strategies to prevent and mitigate global pandemics while strengthening public health systems for future challenges? 3. How can we ensure equitable distribution of resources and opportunities to reduce social inequalities and foster global peace and stability? 4. What are the best methods to regulate and ensure the ethical development and deployment of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies to avoid unintended consequences? 5. How can we promote education and awareness about the interconnectedness of global challenges to inspire collective action and responsibility? 6. What steps can be taken to reform economic systems and prioritize long-term well-being over short-term gains, in order to foster a more resilient and sustainable future? 7. How can we nurture a global culture of cooperation, empathy, and understanding to address the complex issues that threaten humanity's survival and well-being?

@petergyang Even more unpopular: I'd rather use post-it notes stuck to my monitor than Notion.

@zachweismann Took a look and saw that my existing expectation is that the lose contact would have to undergo conversion to a close contact to make reciprocal support over time work well. I’m open to that possibility.

@zachweismann Really like this idea. My first instinct is to reach out to my existing circle to find someone I can partner with. As soon as I took a look, I saw I already have this happening with a handful of close people. The idea is still a powerful one and I’m open to evolution/expansion.

@nickredmark Yes, if you want your kids to learn for themselves. Kids are built to learn, too much attention can prevent them from doing what comes naturally. You got to let them make their own moves and mistakes. Let them stir the cake mix and get it everywhere!

When it comes to parenting, is there such a thing as too much attention?

@nickredmark Most of my learning has come from practices found during Landmark Education programmes, including distinctions “getting off it” (extracting ourselves from the position the ego wants us to occupy), “what’s so / what we make it mean”, “authentic”, and more. Very practical!

@nickredmark Absolutely! I’m picking up on your lingo such as “traumatically embedded frames” - it understand it like I understand a second language (comprehension clicks in after a moment), but what is its source, where did you learn it?

@easycocompany Oh gosh, crazy how pervasive such traumatically embedded frames can be. On the other hand it's a miracle that one still gets to unearth them later in life (with work). So good to finally "get" it. Such a fundamental shift in perspective.

@easycocompany Now that I think about it, no, of course I never felt safe. There were things I couldn't say and emotions I couldn't express, "or else". And this year has been the year of saying the things and experiencing the "or else"...

@nickredmark Unsettling at first. After a while, it shifted into understanding of self and forgiveness for the six year old who had the thought that everyone is either a villain or a victim, then went on to live his whole life with that perception underlying almost everything!
