I watched a video of an innocent person being killed by a police officer… and it honestly broke my heart. Sometimes, I feel so ashamed of being Nigerian because of how broken the system is. You could hear the guy begging, saying “let me take you there”… and yet they still ended his life. It just doesn’t sit right with me. It feels like something was planned and covered up. To everyone involved in that act, God sees everything. Justice may delay, but it will surely come. This pain is too much. Something has to change. #Endpolicecorruption #EndPoliceBrutality

Dear Rotimi,
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, you are right. People can't eat roads; however, the availability of good roads helps keep the prices of food, goods, and services affordable.
Let us take the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway as examples.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will reduce travel time between Lagos and Calabar from 12 hours to seven, while the Illela-Sokoto-Badagry superhighway will reduce travel time from Sokoto to Lagos from 17 hours to nine hours.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, which is an arm of the United Nations, travel costs account for between 20% and 30% of food costs.
Reduced travel time means lower travel costs, which will trickle down and translate into lower prices for food, goods, and services.
Let us recognise that it is not the government's duty to grow food for citizens. If you, Rotimi, plant crops in your backyard or any space around where you live, they will grow. And by virtue of the Land Use Act, you, Rotimi, can apply for a free plot of land from your state government for the purpose of agriculture.
However, it is the government's responsibility to facilitate infrastructure that enables citizens to grow food for themselves and to transport it to markets for those engaged in commercial agriculture.
As for cement prices, please be aware that Nigeria is part of the global economy, and the crisis in the Middle East will affect the prices of goods and services, including cement.
I do hope you find this explanation helpful.
Thanks again, Rotimi, and may God bless you.

Nigerians are now reporting getting their passports within three days. Abroad, in our embassies, they are getting it on the same day. Federal civil servants are posting alerts of their ₦35,000 wage support. Nigerian banks are reporting record-breaking profitability. Dangote Group has just announced that they repatriated $687 million to Nigeria due to economic reforms making Nigeria more investor-friendly. Fitch Ratings has rated Nigeria's economy as stable and expanding at 3.2% next year. In a diplomatic coup, the German Chancellor visited Nigeria for almost a week.
Yet, despite all these, Arise Peoples Party says Nigeria's economy is at an all-time low and has tanked. @AriseTV is not selling news. They are selling PROPAGANDA!

The Supreme Court has now ruled on the appeal brought by my party and its Presidential candidate. I do not comment on the rightness or wrongness of the judgment, except to say that as a law-abiding and patriotic citizen of Nigeria, it is accepted that the Supreme Court is final.
Therefore, the judgment should be accepted by all Nigerians as settling all the issues of contention and the matter of who won the Presidential election held on February 25, 2023. Therefore, I call on the Peoples Democratic Party and its Presidential candidate, Waziri Atiku Abubakar, to accept the judgment and let this controversy end.
I congratulate President Bola Tinubu and the people of Nigeria, who now have clarity for the future. Perhaps we can now focus on the task of building our nation and growing our economy to enable it to deliver a decent living and opportunities for positive human development for all Nigerians, especially the masses.
To the Peoples Democratic Party, let us learn from the disunity that cost us this election. If a united opposition could not defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2019, we showed an extreme lack of judgment to have allowed division within our ranks in 2022-2023. Hopefully, we can make better decisions for the future.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

IT IS TIME TO BUILD OUR GREAT NATION TOGETHER
I welcome the verdict of the Justice John I. Okoro-led Panel of the Supreme Court on the Presidential Election petitions filed by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, challenging the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The court has done justice to all issues put up for consideration in the petitions on the merits of the law, without fear or favour.
There is no doubt, with the profound judgment of today, that our electoral jurisprudence and constitutional democracy are further consolidated and embedded more indelibly in our national identity because of the diligence and undaunted professionalism of the Honourable Justices who presided over the matter.
While the verdict of today has laid to rest the agitating discourse over who truly won the 2023 Presidential election and met the constitutional requirements as laid out by law, I want to reiterate that my faith in our nation’s judiciary has never been shaken, not even for a moment, because I know that our hallowed courts of law will not fail to administer justice to all Nigerians in all matters and at all times. Despite the fusillade of pressure and attempts at intimidation by some political actors, the judiciary demonstrated its unequivocal commitment to upholding the rule of law for the upliftment and defense of humanity.
It was affirmed once more today, that my party, the governing All Progressives’ Congress, had freely and fairly won the popular mandate of Nigerians, which has since given rise to my leadership of this great nation at a tumultuous period of unprecedented reforms in our history as a nation.
With deep gratitude to God Almighty, I solemnly and humbly accept today’s judicial victory with an intense sense of responsibility and a burning desire to meet the great challenges confronting our people.
The victory of today has further energised and strengthened my commitment to continue to serve all Nigerians of all political persuasions, tribes, and faiths, with honour and total respect for the diverse opinions and uniting values of our citizens.
Our Renewed Hope agenda for a greater and prosperous Nigeria has further gained momentum and I will continue to work from morning to night, every single day, to build a country that meets our collective yearnings and aspirations.
We are all members of one household, and this moment demands that we continue to work and build our country together. The strength of our diversity and the great citizenship that binds us must now compel us forward in directing the energy of our people towards building a virile, stronger, united, and more prosperous country.
In the days and months ahead, I trust that the spirit of patriotism will be elevated into supporting our administration to improve the living conditions of Nigerians. I am prepared to welcome the contributions of all Nigerians to foster and strengthen our collective progress.
I send my immense gratitude to all Nigerians for the mandate to serve our country. I promise again to meet and exceed your expectations in service delivery and good governance, working with my team and trusting in the grace of God.
May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
President and Commander-in-Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria

@officialABAT How do we build on top of damaged institutions?
How do we build on stolen mandate?
How do we ever trust our government again?
How do we ever trust Nigeria?
Today, the SC and Justice crumbled. Never to rise again.

Thought I'd throw my hat in the #IrishTwitter ring.
Seen a lot of "shouldn't be blamed for things her ancestors did"
To which James Connolly had a very apt response when the King visited Ireland in 1911
