No, it is not built on a faulty premise. In this part of the world, people naturally respect those with titles, wealth, power, and the like. How does “Mr and Prof. Mrs…” even sound? The wife understood the game. The respect from outsiders would always be directed at her because of her professorial title. Only a few people, who know that the man is financially successful, would accord him the same level of respect.

My madam is a Professor of English. When she earned her PhD, we attended her graduation and celebration. Everyone praised her. Her husband is “just” a degree holder, but he is a very successful Igbo businessman. After the graduation, whenever they were invited to events or family programs, their names were often written as “Mr and Dr. Mrs…” It became so frequent that it began to seem like people were no longer giving the husband the respect he deserved because of the emphasis on her title. Later, the wife’s village sent a message that they wanted to honor her husband for his support and contributions to the community. The wife insisted that he be made a chief instead. Now, they are addressed as “Chief and Prof. Mrs…”

My mum is crashing out Apparently, my mum and dad agreed to increase the house rent from 450k to 700k because "things are expensive now." So my mum told my dad she should break the news to the tenants the next day. He said no problem. The next day, my dad spoke to the tenants: some begged to pay 500k this year and start the new rate next year. He agreed, but one tenant refused. She said the country is hard, her business isn't making sales, and pleaded with my dad to allow her pay 450k this year, then pay the new rent next year. After much begging, my dad agreed but he didn't tell my mum, maybe he forgot. My mum found out last night and has been crashing out ever since she woke up . Now she keeps going on about "unity between husband and wife" and how my dad doesn’t love or value her opinion 😂 Omo, my dad is trying to explain, but she's not listening. According to her, we're the only ones in Port Harcourt taking 450k for a one-bedroom. So please, if you're in Port Harcourt, tell me: how much is a one-bedroom flat in your area? I need numbers to console my mum 😭

Have you ever seen Sowore fix anything with his personal money? Maybe drill a borehole, fix a classroom, patch a road, or provide some medical outreach for his people in Ondo state? He is forbidden from helping his own people? Those who have never built anything in life will always try to pull others down. Next time, before you criticize the “Best Governor in Nigeria;” first, you must mention your state. He wants to rule Nigeria but he cannot fix the dilapidated primary school he attended. Frauds in orange beret are a ‘phony’ bunch. Hungry fools are shifting the goalpost on his behalf. They don’t think the scumbag should fix the school in Ondo with his own money. His cash is only meant for igbo & mapoka in Radisson Blu? They said the government should fix the school for them. So their own charity only begins from faraway Abia State? Is that your final answer? Ondo State does not deserve to be rescued by their own son? Who even made such a rule? It’s easier to criticize others when you are utterly useless to society. Complaining about your local roads while he is holding leaders accountable across the nation shows your shallow understanding of leadership and activism. If you truly cared, you’d join the movement for real change instead of trying to box Sowore into your narrow, myopic view.

Sowore, @sowore, why have you not staged protests in your state, Ondo, over the insecurity ravaging the state? Your immediate local government has no electricity or motorable roads.
