@audrawrongspeak If you have a partner take shifts. That’s the best way to maximize sleep.

Best tips on maximizing sleep with a newborn? I’m thinking of getting a mattress pad and just laying in her room since she loves her crib. That way I have a shorter distance to respond. Anyone have anything else that might help?

@emberambience @BiblicalBeauty They are great privately for family at holidays and birthdays but I think it’s incredibly rude to send on a birthday invite.

@themoviedadsc At 3.25%, that $1,570 payment is basically a financial artifact from another era. Replacing it with a 6.3% loan is not upgrading houses, it is voluntarily resetting your cost of capital. Same neighborhood, same budget, radically worse math.

Wife texting me another Zillow link after I've repeatedly told her to stop because our current mortgage payment is $1,570 (3.25% 30-yr rate), and the current average 30-yr mortgage rate just hit 6.3%

@deborahmullan @ravenousreader We are in a pretty big (5-600 people each mass) parish so I don’t think that will work. We have definitely made use of walking around together! But I appreciate the it gets better. I was guessing this might be a wait it out situation.

@echochamberfail @ravenousreader It gets better. With mine, we were part of a very small parish, and letting them wander at that age kept things more peaceful than trying to keep them still. Our rule was no going past the altar rail. But my son, at home and he'd play priest. He was paying attention.

I remember peeking at people’s shoes under the pew when everyone was kneeling. I remember my Grammy trying to sooth me with back scratch’s during long boring homilies. I remember that toys weren’t allowed. I was expected to pay attention. I remember that feeling impossible and boring. I remember being a small child at Mass. That’s why I explained the Mass to them, gave them missals and such. They need to be there learning.
Crisis Magazine@CrisisMag

Tradition favors formation through participation, not exclusion. Children belong at Mass precisely because they are learning to love what is sacred. crisismagazine.com/opinion/do-you…

@Blondes_tweets oh I mean he could have changed and walked around and if you used formula like we did he could have fed as well. Taking shifts means everyone gets enough sleep.

Spoke with the Priest at my local Church today and honestly I want to cry It seems like I might have to wait two more years for the Sacraments. OCIA doesn’t start until August. I’ve finally tracked down my (unfortunately still legal) wife whom I’ve been separated from for 10 years. And my Priest told me it could be up to a year for an annulment with not even that guaranteed. And if it IS granted I have to marry the mother of my children (which I already intend to do) as quickly as possible meaning a beautiful wedding takes backseat over court house “one and done” The mistakes of my past just won’t leave me alone. Talk about spiritual warfare. If I wasn’t so certain in the One True Church I’d probably just give up 😭 I just wanna go home guys

Kumail Nanjiani, raised Muslim, gets up on that Oscar stage last night, cracks two harmless little jokes about shortening movies. “It’s A Wonderful Life” becomes “It’s A Wonderful Month,” “The King’s Speech” turns into “The King’s Tweet.” Cute, right? Everyone chuckles. Then he slides in the third: “Schindler’s List” to “Schindler’s Post-It.” See what he did? The first two were just fluff…safe, silly, no harm. They were the warm-up act, the cover. Made the room feel cozy so he could drop the real bomb without anyone flinching too hard. Because once you’re laughing at a jester’s joke, why not laugh at six million dead Jews reduced to office supplies? He could have said “Gone With the Wind” to “Gone With the Breeze!” But that wasn’t in his agenda. That was a calculated jab at Jewish pain. It’s vile. They’ve done this forever…hide the knife behind a smile…and they’ll keep doing it. Jew-hating monsters in nice suits (Mamdani). I call it like I see it! @TheAcademy @kumailn

@wyatttoday @NYMag Yes. That is specifically why what he said was so deeply disgusting. He got on a national stage and said “the women in my family are foolish and pathetic”. Has he not specifically insulted his mother, most people would have stopped being mad at him by now.

@AdeleScalia I feel deep personal shame that our country supports and does killing on behalf of Israel. Anti Zionism isn’t anti semitism. Anti Jewish attacks are extremely out of the norm in the US, thankfully.

So immensely sick of this antisemitic crap and what it has turned daily life for Jewish people in the US and around the world into. So many of you should feel deep, personal, shame and responsibility for the attacks happening everywhere against Jews.

The astonishing thing about Sen. Sanders isn't that he's become a full-fledged anti-Israel bigot. That's par for the course. An ideological world in which hating Israelis is definitional. What's amazing is that his Third-Worldism now pits him against most Iranians and Lebanese.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

It’s not just Iran. It’s Lebanon. In less than 2 weeks, Israel has killed 570 people and displaced 750,000 — over 10% of the entire country. Residential buildings are being bombed with no warning. The U.S. cannot continue to be complicit in Netanyahu’s wars.

@ravenousreader wait ok same!! I have an astigmatism so it’s already bad but it’s been so much worse with the new headlights. Add rain and I literally cannot see any part of where I’m going.

I HATE THEM. I can’t drive around here after dark mostly because of them. It’s very curvy and hilly. The roads are narrow and when these headlights come at me they blind me. I literally cannot see anything; just blinding lights that obscure the car and the road. It’s terrifying.
Wall Street Apes@WallStreetApes

Scientist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine's Light and Health Research Center says that the new headlight bulbs being used in America are dangerous and causing accidents “He says, older headlights use halogen bulbs which have a softer orange color, but newer ones are bluish white. You're creating a lot of glare for those other drivers” I agree, the new headlights are awful and blind you. They should have never been allowed on the market
