Nobody is saying men are invalid. Nobody is saying men can’t say “I hate women” because they’ve also had a rough experience. We’re stating that women are generally less safe around men than men are around women. And as men we should be more aware and more patient.

If a woman says she hates men, people grant it nuance and give reasons for it. One is punished immediately and the other turns into a debate on authenticity of words.

Women don’t actually mean they hate men when they say it. It’s a vague expression based on what men in their past have put them through. Assuming it’s the same sentiment if a man says it, I don’t see issue with it. If it’s a genuine deep rooted hatred of women, then no I don’t support it.

I think they’re valid. I think they have experiences with multiple men not respecting their boundaries and it makes it harder for them trust men entirely because of it. And I think as men, we have a moral responsibility to be patient with women in our lives that feel this way, because we may not know the entirety of their trauma. It’s not fair for us to judge a woman based off of what little we know about them. I think men that have a problem with that statement are usually the reason that it’s said so often. Abusive, predatory men usually get the most unsettled and impatient when it’s said. Those aren’t men I want to be around or associated with. As a son, husband and father, I want women to feel safe.
