A country that has been bombed by America knows what America is.
A country that has been sanctioned into poverty by America knows what America is.
A country whose elected government was overthrown by American intelligence knows what America is.
Only American citizens, sitting inside the country that did all of this, remain genuinely uncertain about what America is.
This is not a coincidence.
This is the one information environment on earth that was designed, resourced, and sustained specifically to prevent that knowledge from becoming normal.
Hollywood.
Textbooks.
The nightly news.
The "national interest" frame that converts every act of imperial violence into a defensive response to external threat.
The most sophisticated propaganda operation in history was never aimed at the enemy.
It was aimed at home.

93 percent is the number.
But the number that actually explains the psychology is this:
0.4 percent.
That is approximately the percentage of the American population currently serving in the military.
0.4 percent fight the wars.
99.6 percent watch the flyovers.
This ratio, a tiny professional military drawn disproportionately from poor and rural communities, fighting continuous wars on behalf of a population that has almost no personal contact with the human cost, is what makes perpetual war psychologically sustainable.
The draft ended in 1973 because Vietnam proved that a conscript army brings the war home in ways that are politically unmanageable.
When every family has someone in the war, the war becomes everyone's business.
When 0.4 percent fight and 99.6 percent attend football games, the war is an abstraction.
An abstraction you can support indefinitely.
An abstraction you can fund without feeling it.
An abstraction that doesn't interrupt dinner or election campaigns or quarterly earnings reports.
The professional military did not just change how America fights.
It changed who the war belongs to.
And wars that don't belong to the people paying for them can run forever.

It is also getting worse. I grew up with Vietnam but it wasn’t until 9/11 that we escalated to this state of perpetual war, including having 5 or 6 conflicts at a time. The propaganda machine never stops. It’s part of our patriotic bread and circuses at NFL games and other American pastime events. When you invest more than a $ trillion in the military you feel guilty if you aren’t using it every day.

@eclipsescythe @JohnWat59766564 @soigomaa I did. Please note that I didn’t mention the R academy. I still believe that 62 million page views on a porn site with 20,000 videos of “ sleep content” is vile and says a lot about how men prefer women without agency. That is part of R-culture.

@PunkyQueerster @JohnWat59766564 @soigomaa 63 million visits to a porn site. Not people participating in a rape academy. You guys should actually read before using that.

Feminists actually respect men more than pick me tradwives' do. Tradwives reduce you to a paycheck and a bodyguard. They want a tool, not a partner. Feminists demand more from you because they know you're capable of more. They want emotional intelligence, shared responsibilities, and an authentic human being, not a 'provider' robot. Stop confusing 'submissiveness' with respect. Feminism is actually the one wanting to share the weight of the world with you.
Let that sink in.

Her name is Meenu Batra.
Her parents were killed in India because of their Sikh religion.
She fled to the U.S. as a teenager.
She was granted legal status to live and work here.
She spent 20+ years as a certified federal court interpreter — her Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu skills requested in courtrooms nationwide.
Her youngest son just joined the U.S. Army.
On March 17, ICE arrested Meenu Batra, 53, at the airport while she was heading to a work trip.
She’s been in a detention facility near the Mexican border ever since.
Her immigration status means she can’t be sent back to India.
So the government could deport her to a third country she has never lived in.
Her son said: “I thought I would serve my country and serve my people. I didn’t know the people was everyone except my mom.”
DHS called her an “illegal alien.”
She helped interpret justice for decades. Now she can’t sleep at night because she doesn’t know where she’ll wake up.
Tell me — what exactly is it she did wrong?

@agNavya Ah, the age-old question of every student who didn’t finish their assigned reading the day before a test.
