If you’ve ever tried working on your own projects, you’ve probably asked yourself: “should I give up on this thing?”
I know so because I’ve tried (and quit/failed) many things:
- Gaming
- Launching an NFT project
- Tiktok clipping
In august of last year, I once again found myself at these very crossroads. I had ditched a well paid consulting internship to move into a house on the other side of the country with two guys I met online a month ago.
The summer flew by while we had been working on a bunch of different businesses but nothing had worked out. I felt like I had made a huge mistake.
Every sane thought in my brain told me to throw in the towel, call it a good run, and head back to school.
I decided to say f*ck that, and leave school.
A leap of faith.
So what was different about this time vs every other time when I decided to give up?
This time, to my left and right sat my best friends (@_dcai & @declangessel )who believed in me so much that it propped me up at times when I didn’t even believe in myself.
Less than a month after that decision, our app crossed 10k MRR. That moment is still burned into my memory.
Today, that business has allowed us to serve hundreds of thousands of users, travel the world, and get an awesome space we want to share with you.
To the person reading this, you are just around the corner from a massive breakthrough in your business/project/idea. You just need to be around the people who are gonna support you.
This is exactly what we’re striving to curate at the SLAM space.
I hope to see your application at the link in the photo below :)

my theory is that CBOs identify certain users whose interactions w ads "most accurately" predict the success of an ad (based on user data/history)
could be as low as 50-100 users, but my guess is that meta still considers it statistically significant, because of the track record of some of these users
English

Here's the problem with testing in CBO
You're essentially saying that you trust Meta to make the right decisions (allocate spend correctly)
But (in my opinion) Meta makes these decisions based on metrics like CTRs, or engagement.
And high CTRs don't always result in a high ROAS
That's why I personally prefer to test in ABO
It gives you more control over who gets spend
Allowing you to give every one of your ads a chance to shine

@Jacob96827521 seen this on WW campaigns. US seems to be doing great tho, no issues

Have been feeling this last couple of days. CVR has tanked. When I check Microsoft Clarity there are an insane amount of sessions of 1 second. I have a feeling there is some kind of glitch with a lot of ad links right now where users either aren’t being taken to the right place or things aren’t loading properly
Jacob@jforjacob
Have you saw significant decline in Meta performance this past week?
English

@EcomMame @ecomalexndr ngl i chatted w clayton about a partnership - he sorta treated it like i'd just run everything for him & do all the busy work
seems like he looks for quick ways to test ideas thru others without doing anything himself
just the vibe i got. never went thru w anything
English

@alexkarcz @frankkgabriel yeah man when i lived there i saw the same thing
the formatting just doesn't work on the checkout screen. been seeing lots of orders stuck with the carrier for that reason
English

@ecomgriff @frankkgabriel I used to live there and I can tell u the system isn’t set up properly it’s hard to put ur correct address it like doesn’t pop up it’s weird

I have THEE most annoying product to launch into new markets because it needs to be modified every time.
Regardless I'm stoked to report that our Spanish store is doing better than ever with what looks like a ton of room to grow.
100% Spanish speaking team. Separate store as well. Cost a little more than a quick AI translation dupe but I can't argue with the difference in results +I'm able to modify messaging and import requirements with every country.
If you are scaling in Spain (5K+ per day) please message me. Struggling to crack things there and would be happy to trade knowledge.
All glory to Christ.

We've crossed a $2M Month on TikTok Shop. Product launched on Shop in November. Brand was created in May.
"But... but... why are you not satisfied?"
Simple really.
My brothers @ZanderrHoover @robertsanterre @lucawashenko have all doubled these numbers.
If you're resting at your current state of success, you're quite literally telling yourself "Well... this is as good as it gets!"
Grateful to God for this success. Even more grateful to God for surrounding me with creators & brand owners that stretch my beliefs about what's possible.
No one's touching @creatorscorner0 @JimmyFarley00
