FUCK META 🚨🚨🚨🚨 $10,000/day in Meta ad spend. Now they want me to pre-deposit $70,000. Every week. They removed credit card payments. No warning. Rejected my invoicing application. No reason. Support told me to “ask a friend.” I have employees. I have payroll. And Meta told me to call my mom. @Meta does not care if your business survives. You are not a partner. You are a deposit. April 8th thousands of businesses go dark. Not because ads don’t work. Because Meta broke their own system and called it policy. Every new day, new loss for Meta.

Always funny to see what brands do on april fools. This is what our team did on email. Did you do anything for your brand on this day?

Say: "30-day money back guarantee." They ignore it. Say: "if you try it for 30 days and don't feel different, I don't want your money." They buy. Same policy. Different conviction. Conviction converts.

We onboarded this brand in February. Closing this month on 4 ROAS. Came from 2 ROAS. Not profitable. Solely relying on UGC creators. No specific strategy in place for each briefing. Tested 150+ statics. We diversified content with AI voice overs. No inventory issues had us scale towards 2k+ orders. Now double-down on what works + LPs setup.

In ecom, a screenshot doesn't prove anything guys. When I started in 2018 I accidentally enabled Google marketing on Shopify and it launched a Shopping campaign on its own. Ended up doing $700k. I had no idea what I was doing. I just didn't turn it off 😂😂😂

2.3+ ROAS ads are moving toward formats like this not ugc creators not influencers not doctors talking on camera just simple animated visuals showing the problem instantly clean design, clear hook, easy to understand in seconds you don’t need explanation you just get it that’s why people keep watching it doesn’t feel like an ad no friction, no overthinking just instant clarity this format now works across multiple niches weight loss, gut health, skincare, supplements same style reused different angles tested constantly one concept → dozens of creatives rt + comment “visualflow” and i’ll send the setup (follow for dm)

@oliverbrocato We try to tackle this by doing monthly sessions on what can potentially go wrong in the business and come up with pre solution already when we launch new stuff for example. Its called Pre Mortum as business term I think

If ur an ecom founder, u need to assume something WILL break. I'm all for going into something bullish, but being blindly optimistic is going to kill ur biz. U launch a new ad set. It flops. U panic, kill everything, and reset from zero. U hire fast. They rage quit in 2 weeks. Now ur ops are on fire and ur scrambling. U push inventory. Doesn’t sell. Now cash is locked and ur stuck. This happens to everyone. But the founders who survive? They expect it. So when it hits, they already: > Have 10 more creatives ready > Have backup candidates in pipeline > Planned for slow-moving SKUs with backup liquidation channels Optimism gets u started. Paranoia keeps u alive. U will face failure. The key is not to make it ur last by expecting it.

3 into running stores i thought i understood unit economics until i looked at one number i’d been ignoring had a store doing $160k/month. felt like a real business. profitable on paper. then one afternoon in my office i pulled up something i'd never properly looked at before. refund rate by SKU. not blended. by individual product. my best selling product. the one i was scaling hardest. the one i was most proud of. refund rate of 12.4%. i just stared at it. went back through the last 6 months of ad spend on that product. $180k in ads. driving revenue that was sending 12 cents of every dollar straight back out the door. plus the CAC i'd already paid. plus the margin i'd made nothing on. plus chargebacks quietly building in the background. i'd been scaling a leak and calling it growth. dug into the reviews on that SKU specifically. same complaint showing up over and over. product sizing wasn't matching the size guide. customers felt misled by the photos. completely fixable problems. but because i was always looking at blended refund rates nobody had ever found them. blended rate looked fine at 3.8%. pulled ad spend on that SKU immediately. fixed the size guide. updated the product photography to accurately represent sizing. rewrote the description to set proper expectations. refund rate dropped from 12.4% to 3.1% in 8 weeks. then scaled it again. this time properly. the product became one of the best performing SKUs in the store within 3 months. i think about how long i was scaling that product before i looked at the number that actually mattered. blended metrics are comfortable. they smooth everything out. make the business look healthier than it is. hide the problems until the problems are too big to hide. look at your refund rate by SKU today. not blended. by product. you might find something that's been quietly compounding for months.
