@HarrySymeou @AventLee It’s the England FC medical team that makes the assessment and decides if players are available or not. It’s got nothing to do with Arsenal. People need to stop listening to the very average footballer turned worse pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor.

No Eze, Hincapie, Saka, Rice, Timber or Trossard with the group today. Turns out all the talk of Arsenal being dishonest & pulling their players out of their respective international camps under false pretences was a load of guff. Who’d have thought it 🤷🏻‍♂️

@paoloseb05 @fragga81 Using THESE trackers to make relevant insights into players is the silliest thing. It only signals where a disposal was made. There's zero record (available publicly) that actually tracks where a player goes. Tracking 19 data points from 729 in 120 minutes is at best, useless.

He’s a natural ball winner and link-up footballer in a system which utilizes space on the outside at an elite level. High-impact player who is elite for score involvements. Pure outside player who is end to end. Carlton continually misprofiles these types of players. That’s his ‘tracker’ for the year to date. You never use one game as a sample size.

Ginnivan in the backline spoiling a contest - is Sam Mitchell using him as a cardio playing? 😘 I’m sure the “experts” on here will tell me otherwise!!

Rule check @hasumpstuffedup At the very end, Gunston hit the post & the ball bounced off the post straight into the hands of Holmes who played on immediately. Should Holmes have been allowed to play on immediately or does there need to be a signal from the goal umpire first?

@LMcKirdy7 @lenphil29 So far he has been top goal scorer in 2 games (3&4) and both won. 2 games he has scored 2 or less and they only won 1. So so far he is going at 100% when scores big and 50% when he doesn't. Will be an interesting watch.

@lenphil29 I should have said winning scores instead of big scores, although he was still Carlton’s leading goal kicker in I think four of those games. But when Charlie kicked 4+ since 2022, Carlton won 90% of games. Two or less, that dropped to 40% - doubt that’ll be the gap at Sydney.

Carlton's 120+ scores 2023-25 153 v NM (Curnow 4) 121 v WC (2) 138 v Gee (5) 137 v NM (4) 131 v Rich (2) 152 v WC (9) 140 v WC (10) 122 v PA (3) 120 v GC (2) So, "often" is basically twice. You can just say anything on here
Lachlan McKirdy@LMcKirdy7

At Carlton, the Blues often relied on Charlie Curnow to star to kick a big score. Last night showed that at Sydney he’s part of a system where he just has to do his bit. He had four goals and wasn’t dominant, but competed strongly, often against two opponents. #AFLEaglesSwans

@sirswampthing Dees won centre clearance 18-9. +9 seems like a fairly dominant differential. How often has a team been +9 or better?

@LMcKirdy7 So an elbow/forearm to the next off the ball is equal to Hayward's arm to the midriff when the ball is in play?

@The_PrenderCast @fragga81 If Walsh was traded today to Gee, Dogs, Hawks do you think he starts to perform better? I believe he would. In which case that's the system, not the player.

@fragga81 [insert some childish whinge about you ‘playing the man’] I’ll try one more time: if we were better coached, do you think we’d win more games? When it’s posted, do yourself a favour and listen to this weeks ep from 1:04:00 in. I go over four-and-a-half years of coaching failure

@adriansal80 How do you fairly judge players when the system they have been forced to play doesn't work. Take for instance Buku Khamis. He almost came to Carlton and if he was here now he would be called a list clogger but in the Dogs system he is being lauded as a breakthrough player.

Carlton fans who think Voss is the only problem are delusional. Yes, he has to go, we all know that. But giving players a free pass for dropped marks, missed sitters, and basic skill errors is a cop out. They need to own it too.

Interesting one for the MRO here. The new guidelines read: “Intentional strikes to the body or head will usually be graded as medium impact at a minimum.” Low impact: $ Medium impact: 1 week More on Crunch Time from 11am. @1116sen @AFLNation

@hasumpstuffedup Definitely doesn’t lower himself and neither did the Lohman one you highlighted. There is a swinging arm and instinctively both players move their head away from it. That is not lower themselves. Evans’s hips and torso were at the same level before the contact.

@The_PrenderCast People need to realise this isn’t just a new thing. Sure they’ve tried to fix the game plan but after 5yrs of doing one thing it is very hard to change when the pressure goes up. What we are seeing now isn’t the product of 4 weeks or one preseason but 5+ years of poor coaching.

The Prendercast II: Secret of the Blues
If I were Voss I’d get all the players, Wright, Priestley et al in the rooms and say we need to have it out. ‘What’s the issue?’ type stuff. And then add, ‘if it’s me, if you think it’s me, I’ll walk right now.’ Because this is untenable. #AFLNorthBlues

@nbhorse Couldn't disagree more. A new coach (hopefully) brings method instead of panic. What did north do when we got on top? Got their hands on the ball and controlled the game and didn't let us get it back. What did we do when they got on top. Panic kick it down the line.

unless a new coach is bringing 2 or 3 young, dynamic running mids with him, a change of coach will feel good but make very little difference. Our midfield is not fit for the modern game. #AFLNorthBlues

@ash_gallagher @rohan_connolly People laughed when Arsene said he could go the season undefeated. Imagine Jover saying he'd win with only scoring set pieces. And then he does it. I'd laugh so hard I'd have to be hospitalised because of an internal injury.

Would sacking Michael Voss be the right move for Carlton? Not now, says Rohan Connolly on FOOTYOLOGY, unless the Blues' board wants to admit it’s just completely wasted the last six months. footyology.com.au/not-that-simpl…
