I think one thing McDavid hasn't gotten enough credit for this season is killing penalties. McDavid has played 81 minutes 4v5 and has produced some of the best Oilers' numbers there. Kucherov and Mackinnon have both played less than 3 minutes total on the pk this season.

@MinorMidgetGTHL I’m not sure as it came from Sportsnet that night but also it is an award for what has been done on the season. So I’m guessing they take the whole of the team’s games? Could be wrong but I guess it’s why players who don’t play full seasons don’t get awards based on per 60

@edmoilerz14 It should be Celebrini if it's not McDavid. Celebrini is +11 on MacKinnon for points gap to the second highest scorer on their teams.

Find that a decent percentage of Bouchard issues are actually him playing the pass or whatever one is supposed to do.
I like this perspective here! Bouchard had a poor night by his standards (even his passing/shooting was off) but this is correct

If Bouchard over commits to the puck carrier here and he hits the pass to the trailing guy everyone roasts him all the same. Bouchard's job isn't too go diving across the ice to steal the puck it's go take away the pass and cut off a move across the crease.

It’s about time that NHL awards, rules, etc are either read/applied quite literally OR reworded to whatever the actual standard is supposed to be.
The rules have obvious large issues BUT every awards season people debate what an award is for. That shouldn’t be the debate…
