According to @TheAthletic, the front office not only didn’t believe in Pete Fatse, but he was blamed for Kristian Campbell’s inability thus far to live up to projections: “They didn’t believe in Pete. That’s the reality of it. That’s true.”

@EdHand89 Almost always on the player. The greatest coach gives great instruction or advice but if it’s not put to use it’s meaningless. Also hitting a baseball is the toughest thing in sports.

Private equity took the Red Sox from one of the greatest teams in history (just eight years ago) to the basement. From nursing homes to thriving businesses to baseball teams, there is nothing private equity won't run into the ground if given the chance.
Joon Lee@joonlee

The Red Sox didn’t lose their way overnight. Their incentives shifted. When private equity enters sports, the questions change — and so do the answers. Inside the organization, some describe the culture as “toxic positivity.” The story behind it: open.substack.com/pub/joonlee/p/…

Why do some of you ride so hard for Joe Schoen? •22-45-1 in the regular season which is the 6th worst in the NFL •13-38 over the last 3 seasons •1 playoff win •.331 win rate • Player grade of D+ •Mismanagement of the kicking position for multiple seasons •Poor free agency value •Key talent walked •Failure to put a serviceable product on the field I mean seriously. He hasn’t been able to put together a winning roster but some of you act like he’s built a top tier NFL team in his time with the Giants. You realize he’s a contributing factor to all the losing this franchise has been experiencing correct? How do you all complain in season about him & then give him a pass now? Fan logic 🙄

@PatrickThePi What kind of guy grabs a ball from a little girl? Agree it shouldn’t ruin his life but, the guy is a dick.

The guy who grabbed Daniel's HR ball from the little girl last night obviously made a mistake. I'm sure he woke up this morning feeling embarrassed, ashamed & humiliated. Shouldn't that be enough? Apparently not. Now the mob is doxing his business & going after his livelihood. To be fair, many of us have probably made mistakes in our lives worse than the one he made last night. We should all be thankful our worse moments didn't play out on national TV... And maybe show a little compassion. And for what it's worth, the little girl is getting a signed bat, signed ball and batting gloves from Schnee. So... I think she's gonna be ok. Let's leave the guy alone.

@charliemidnite @Steve_Perrault Game planner and run prevention. So would the pitching coach be more accountable for run prevention? He’s still here. The offense and lack of power has been the problem The pitching will be fine.

@eduff56 @Steve_Perrault We are not questioning his ability to work with catchers. His job and title was run prevention coordinator and lets be honest, it hasn't been stellar.

I can’t get over how the Sox handled the Varitek situation publicly. Saying you “reassigned” one of the most important players in team history just to save face when you were firing him too is a joke. Former Sox legends are gonna see that and want nothing to do with these guys.

I've found him! His name is Pablo Cabrera. He looks like he is in the witness protection program as a whistleblower inside a big company for tax fraud. Welcome to the Majors! I wish you well Pablo! @BostonStrong_34 pointed him out to me first and I said this there.

Trevor Bauer @BauerOutage just threw a no-hitter in his second game with the Long Island Ducks. Bauer was falsely accused of sexual misconduct. Was never convicted of any crimes yet was SUSPENDED by MLB for an entire season and has been blackballed by the league ever since. One of Bauer's accusers was convicted of FRAUD in this case... but Bauer himself is clean. Again... the media went berserk when Colin Kaepernick couldn't find work in the NFL (because he was washed up) but the same media hasn't said a word about Bauer. Here is a man, with actual ability, *ACTUALLY* being blackballed by a professional sports league. CRICKETS... I wonder why. Trevor Bauer deserves a shot in the MLB. What happened to him is a grave injustice.

@TJBennettt37 What they tapped into is a healthy Harrison which hadn’t been the case for the most part. He was a top prospect, the talent was there. Good for him, got an opportunity before he would get one here and is running with it.

The real question they should ask if about Kyle Harrison. I get he was on the back burner in the prospect pipeline and maybe it didn’t gel here with him, but Milwaukee tapped into that potential big time. Also boils down to coaching and maybe that changes with Tracy
Gordo@BOSSportsGordo

The front office believed in David Hamilton despite trading him to the Brewers. When he returned to Fenway in April and played well, the FO began to question the coaching staff’s developmental process with young guys: "Why do a lot of players go to other places and get better? Why do other guys come here and get worse?" (via @byJulianMack)

@tylermilliken_ @byJulianMack i mean ofc, why wouldn’t they? Harrison, Priester, Hamilton are 3 obvious answers. All 3 of the guys have been significantly better on those teams and that’s only 3 example out of the dozens I could go and find.

@tylermilliken_ @byJulianMack Anyone who buys this crap needs to find another hobby. He was here plenty long enough to know what he is and a good series doesn’t change that. Mediocre defender hitting .234 leads to questioning? Laughable.

"Alex Cora did the best he could with the talent he was given." Oh really? Well let's look at what he could control: -Refusing to let players steal -Refusing to let players use ABS -Refusing to not use Weissert in mop-up

@OwBroMedia Released? Highly unlikely as he has another year on his deal paying 25 per this and next. You say long supporter like he had other choices. including the phenom currently platooning at 2b.

I do wonder now that Cora is gone, who has been a long supporter of Trevor Story, what his status on the team is. Does he get moved to second base? Does he become a bench piece? Does he ultimately get traded or released? We'll likely know the answer(s) in the coming weeks
Tyler Milliken@tylermilliken_

There were some in the Red Sox organization who believed Trevor Story was past his prime and no longer capable of being an everyday impact player, per @byJulianMack. The front office was not fully convinced by his 2025 numbers. Questions were raised internally when he hit #2.
