@nickshanks_ @nypost I get that, but that means we have to trust the guide is telling the truth because we don’t see those people in the video. For me, that is a problem. For others, it is not.

A kid recorded their 6th grade teacher getting irritated at them, explaining that they won't even be able to get a job at McDonald's if they don't start learning how to do work. Tbh, I wish teachers would just quit. Let parents finally have to deal with their own kids.

Knicks injury report is clean. Obviously Embiid not being out there is a benefit for New York in the sense that Embiid causes foul trouble and can still score. There’s also a world because of how bad he was moving defensively that literally anyone else out there improves Philly on that end.

@travisakers 1999 + 2444 = ? Do you add them and carry the 1s Or Do you shift 1 from the 2444 and turn the problem into 2000 + 2443? That’s what we’re doing here.

If this white supremacist animal was a black man going into white neighborhoods, using racist language to attack them in the name of free speech, that black man would’ve been dead, and white America, and some Black people that said he deserved it. This white supremacist animal goes all over the country, terrorizing Black people in the name of a free speech so he can get likes and money.. and no one is condemning him for doing it.

Uncomfortable truth: Kids don’t need to know letter names to learn to read. Regrettable fact: Every state has naming letters as a kindergarten standard.

@MrDanielBuck you need to teach children what to think, which is why education constitutes religion itself

I don't think there's an educational cliche that I hate more than this one Knowing lots of stuff is a prerequisite to thinking well. The "how" begins with the "what.". "Transmitting knowledge" is THE primary goal of education, nothing else.

@SwoleKyloRen @RapidResponse47 @DAGToddBlanche Because he didn't even fire and he certainly wasn't the one who struck the officer. We will find out in time that law enforcement is the only one who fired, and all they hit is other law enforcement. Mark my words

@MrDanielBuck Barrier to competition. There are 100,000 software engineers that have recently been laid off that could teach any subject in high school. You think the teachers union wants that competition?

And I quote: "Neither holding a college major in education nor acquiring a master's degree is correlated with elementary and middle school teaching effectiveness." Why do we even have teacher prep programs at this point?!

I Meme Therefore I Am 🇺🇸
UNREAL: Teacher is explaining why illiteracy among children has gotten so severe. She says she has 24 students, and about 50% show up without backpacks, books, papers, or even a pencil. In her view, many of them aren’t coming to school to learn. They don’t pay attention, follow directions, or participate. She spends a large part of the day just trying to keep them awake and minimally engaged. According to her, the issue goes beyond the classroom. She argues that many parents are not setting expectations for learning at home, and that lack of structure carries into school. Instead of teaching, she often feels like she’s managing basic behavior and trying to create a learning environment from scratch. The academic data reflects the problem. Roughly 34% of U.S. fourth graders read below basic levels, and math performance shows similar strain—about a quarter to a third of students perform below basic proficiency in math, depending on the assessment. When large numbers of students fall behind in both reading and math early on, it becomes harder for them to catch up later, putting long-term academic outcomes at risk.
