@BigMeanInternet Yes, pitchers stopped hitting too. They also changed the ball like 100 years ago, but if you want the purest form of the game… well sorry
English

the obvious reason nobody has tried this is that those movies were a genuine miracle and every remotely self-aware director knows they'd never be able to even come close

Rather than move forward with spinoffs that cling to the original The Lord of the Rings movies, maybe the time has come to give the franchise a full, Harry Potter-style reboot. bit.ly/4rY74wY

@AzzurraS4 so, they made Harry to look like a girl but from the films... everyone else looks like garbage...
sure... ok

@NatashaCL7 I haven't said it before, but I"ll say it now. If you don't know how to use AI in your writing, you are not a writer.
English

@AwakenedOutlaw that would make churches more important than God himself... so no
English

@data_republican we have 51, we don't have 60. He has the votes, he just doesn't have the balls.
English

@Ben13Porter I love seeing posts of the form:
I know this is completely wrong, incorrect, and I look like an idiot for saying this should be a certain way... but it should really be a certain way. LOL.
Because I can safely block that person for being an idiot.
English

I understand if you add a buffer zone you get into a cycle of infinite regression… but pitches like this should absolutely not be overturned lol
Codify@CodifyBaseball
about as close as it gets
English

yeah, it should be required that at least 10% of the ball is in the strike zone. I’m sorry this is just egregious.

@CaryKelly11 someone would eat the chemicals and sue the company.
We have lawyers, so we don't get nice things.

Why hasn't this caught on in the US?
They've been eating self-heating food in Japan (Bento) for several years now. They are popular in train stations and convenience stores and run between $3-$13 USD.
You pull a string on the side of the box. This mixes water with a chemical (usually calcium oxide/quicklime) in a bottom compartment, triggering an exothermic reaction that produces steam and heats the meal in 5–10 minutes.
Popular varieties include beef tongue, curry rice, beef bowl, steak and seafood options.
Who needs a microwave when you have Bento!

@NidaKirmani No, your job is to figure out how to grade them on what THEY know even WHEN they use AI.
I'm not saying it's easy, but that is your job.
English

@DJBranham right, and no one celebrated Charlie Kirk getting blown away.
You guys just lie all the time. it's like breathing for you.
You literally did not need to create this post which is pure deception, fiction, and frankly... evil.

I have legit to see a leftist use the phrase toxic masculinity. Was it said once by a vaguely liberal person in 2015 and then the right has used it nonstop since then?
Trad West@trad_west_
Is this what they call "toxic" masculinity?
English

@JoshPhillipsPhD education should always be at the cutting edge of technology. What possible benefit is it to learn technology that is outdated?
English

There’s no good reason for kids to have personal electronic devices in the classroom
There is no academic benefit. People did just fine with pencil and paper long before phones, laptops, and tablets

@AuthorGFAllen if everyone could become good, then why would there be bad writers?
I think it's much closer to everyone can be mediocre, and it's very difficult to actually find the good ones.
English

Daniel Craig said the reason James Bond movies got serious and dark was because of Austin Powers movies
“We had to destroy the myth because Mike Myers f*cked us. I am a huge fan, so don’t get me wrong, but he made it impossible to do the gags.”

@fandompulse keep to acting... just say the words and act like the director tells you to... since you don't seem to understand any of the words yourself.
The Prime Directive is a tough one. Although, I think he has it backwards. the prime directive is anti-colonialism to it's core.
English

Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Beltran on how the Prime Directive is ridiculous:
"The idea of leaving any species to die in its own filth when you have the ability to help them, just because you wanna let them get through their normal evolutionary processes is bunk -- it's a bunch of fascist crap. I much prefer the Cub Scout motto."
Is he correct?

English

@JTAlexander_ Yes, we're already seeing people forced to take the law into their own hands. It's getting worse not better, and the judges are doubling down on everything.
English

The Bar Association won't like me stating the obvious, but this is the inevitable conclusion if the Courts don't make a massive corrective turn in the very near future.
We're about to see lynchings and local tribal protection racket gangs come back out of sheer necessity.

I’m going to be honest. If someone randomly murdered my uncle, and was convicted of it in a court of law, but merely released on probation and sentenced to pay $19,000, then I would kill him.
English

@neiltyson Science is a methodology by which "accepted truth" is questioned constantly by everyone.
So, actually, Science is about proving things are not true... which is the first thing you used to learn about science.
