I am sooo fucking tired of seeing really poorly built apps. Honestly, if you were a dev, QA or PO for the FIFA+ App for the World Cup you should be ashamed of yourself. Tons of just simple things.

This is such a perfect example of the hubris that plagues the tech industry. The absolute assumption that expertise in one narrow field means you’re automatically an expert in every other field. It is embarrassing.

@nicklockwood I'd vote for the former. Validation is simpler... either it de-serialises correctly into a Point class or it doesn't. The latter needs to deal with the case where the server might send zero, one, or five values in the array.

@dimsumthinking I've got a personal macOS app I wrote that uses EKEvent.eventIdentifier and it seems 100% stable. I believe if the event gets moved between calendars it might change, but I just don't do that 😂

@edwardaux We did try one a while ago, but couldn't get it into the App Store... so no, unfortunately there's no app or maintained API for an app at the moment, sorry!

@nicklockwood I explored this very problem a little while ago gist.github.com/edwardaux/01d7… I think it could be generalised further with a custom decoder but something shiny caught my eye and I moved on to other problems
