My wife and I have spent the entire day debating the meaning of this parking sign, which we encountered along the side of the road while on vacation in Cornwall, England. What do you think? maps.apple.com/place?map=sate…

In San Francisco, there is an unspoken rule: When an unmarried High-Net-Worth Individual (HNWI) enters a neighborhood, they are in the market for a new partnership. They might not have it on their roadmap yet. They might not even know they are pitching. But the local ecosystem already views them as an acquired asset. Earlier today, my wife, Mrs. Bennet, came to me with some breaking market intel. "Have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?" I hadn't. I was too focused on my own internal deliverables. That was my first mistake: Ignoring grassroots networking.

@software_dad Somehow my Christian faith has survived the challenge of Sunday being the last day on my week calendar! But appreciate that perspective, for sure.

Because Sunday is the first day of the week. 😉 Saturday and Sunday are qualitatively different, at least for Christians. I’ve always had a mental reset for Sundays—the Resurrection, new life, new week. I did try the first day as Monday thing at one point, but I just couldn’t adapt—too weird.

Lived in the USA for 22 years, adapted to countless cultural and linguistic differences, and even became a citizen. But the first thing I do on any new device is change the calendar to start on Monday. How do y'all look at a weekend split in half and think "yeah, this is fine"?

@coreyward LOL! Weekend days are like a pair of chopsticks: they're meant to go together. One day without the other is just a useless stick.

For web developers on Mac, good news! Safari is adding an MCP server so your agent can easily test, preview, and debug web content with @webkit. For example, @claude can now see what it's building without needing Playwright or other tools. More here: webkit.org/blog/18136/int…

My friend and ex-colleague Thomas Lewis (@tommylee) is certainly great and powerful, but I'm not aware that he's been on this podcast, nor that he's much of a drummer. He certainly deserves the attention of a broader audience, though, so let's celebrate him!

Has anyone seen the remake of that late 90s Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan rom-com? Feels like the new title “You May Have New Messages” is less catchy than the old one…

quite possibly the lamest notitification on Windows. The whatspp app used to be good when it was native, used Windows notifications & didn't have to running all the time and used ~3x less memory. Moved to web based and app it's been downhill ever since. #shameonmeta

At the WWDC26 Platforms State of the Union developer keynote, we mentioned that the TrueType font hinting engine had been rewritten in Swift, for speed and memory safety. This article goes into considerable detail on "what" and "how": swift.org/blog/migrating…
