I don’t think it should be called a Model Y… should be Model E (Economical car) as that would complete the word “SEXY” for his car line Elon @elonmusk said many years ago. @Tesla
@StargatePioneer Not right now, but I'll be okay once I own this microphone that CardiB threw at someone and the Supreme Shure SM58. I'll create a shrine to the mics in the corner of my cardboard box.
It's official, I'm selling all of my microphones. I thought you should know because when you see me with only one microphone going forward I want you to understand.
Heads up, videos currently on hold. Had to tear down the whole studio because of a leak in the roof and didn’t want everything to be destroyed via water damage. Once that’s resolved I’ll be back at it, but until then I am unable to film anything.
@TKellzzz My financial advisor recommended looking into joining the Chamber of Commerce. Apparently, some of them have group coverage options. I haven’t explored it yet, since I’m still in n my wife’s plan.
@davidhooper@meonlylouder I managed to move a client from a Blue Yeti to the SE V7 running through an SSL audio interface. It improved my life considerably. I like the SE V7 a lot. It’s not as bright as the Sennheiser e835 and has more clarity than the Sure SM58. It’s my favorite microphone at that price.
Do you have trouble taking a break from work like I do? I have trouble shutting my work brain off and always feel like there's something I should be doing besides relaxing. 😅
What's your favorite way to recharge?
@SteveStewartMe I hired hundreds of software engineers over the course of my career in software engineering management. Many did not have degrees. It had no bearing on their hiring or compensation. We focused on attitude, aptitude and experience. I have a degree, but it’s a degree in English.
Just heard from an HR-related person that they onboarded a Sr. Software Engineer with a salary of $240k.
…and hinted this person may not have a degree.
Get an education, don’t buy a degree.
@PodcastHelper Our show has been going out live at the same time for over 11 years. It started on radio and moved to YouTube about 6 years ago. A few years back, we added Facebook. We get 2-3k views on the streams, so it’s been successful for us. We still get a lot more on the podcast.
I just reviewed my favorite interface, the @UAudio Twin X: podcastage.com/rev/uatwinx
This thing is what I've been using every single day for the past year. What audio interface do you use every day?
@PodcastEngineer@SquadCastFM I agree 100%. They need to fix this. If they want "to give more control to the user", then let me check a box that says "don't stop recording when a participant disconnects".
BURNED by @SquadCastFM AGAIN w/ that insanely STUPID "feature" which STOPS ALL RECORDING when ANYONE drops off the session. PLEASE FIX THIS! And I'm tired of hearing about backup recordings being available or "giving more control to the user." It's just plain DUMB. C'mon guys.
@meonlylouder@podcastage I absolutely agree. I record a podcast for 2 comedians using SquadCast. I had both of them get Q2Us, since they are not very technical. It sounds better than a lot of podcasts using much more expensive equipment.
@podcastage Shaming anyone for any reason is no way to help them!
I know I am a total audio snob, and I still absolutely love the Samson Q2U for podcasting.
I make tons of gear recommendations to clients and friends based on my experience. It’s up to them to make the decision what’s best
Elitism in audio circles is maddening. By shaming someone because they either don’t want to or are unable to invest thousands in audio capture/playback, you come across as an ass. Understand people have different needs/budgets and can still enjoy the hobby.
