There is something that is still unexplained and I want to find out if someone else has experienced that.
I stayed in a hotel in Lechistien for 3 days but no one attended to me.
As a matter of fact, I didn’t see any of the hotel staff in the three days I spent at the Hotel.
I checked in, then stayed in my room, hate lunch without anyone present and paid.
My room was cleaned whenever I step out for a walk
Then I checked out and drop the key card after my stay
Who else has experienced it in any other hotel in the Europe 💁

@GOLDBABYO I had tears in my eyes reading this...what a manager!!!
English

“He’s sixteen. It’s his second day. He made a mistake. You’re an adult who chose cruelty. Leave.”
Customer left. Angry. Cursing. Manager turned to the kid. “You okay?” He nodded. Still shaking. “I’m sorry I messed up.” “Everyone messes up. That’s how we learn. What you don’t deserve is abuse. Not here. Not anywhere.”
Whole shop watching. Then someone started clapping. Then everyone. Applause for a manager who chose her employee over a customer. Who chose dignity over profit. Who drew a line.
English

I witnessed something at a coffee shop. Teenager working register. Customer ordered. Kid rang it wrong. Customer yelled. Called him stupid. Incompetent. Made a scene. Kid kept apologizing. Near tears. Manager came over.
Expected manager to appease the customer. Apologize. Offer free stuff. Instead she said “Get out.” Customer looked shocked. “Excuse me?” “You heard me. Get out of my shop. Don’t come back.”
Customer sputtered. “I’m the customer. He messed up.” Manager stayed firm.

I borrowed an umbrella from my Airbnb host in Kyoto. I forgot to return it when I checked out, and realized when I was already on the train to Osaka.
I felt terrible. It was a nice umbrella, not a cheap one. I messaged the host apologizing.
She responded: "No problem! Enjoy the umbrella. It's yours now."
I said I'd mail it back. She said "please don't. Postage costs more than an umbrella. Just use it and think of Kyoto when it rains."
I insisted I wanted to return it. She said "okay, but I have a different idea. Next time you see someone who needs an umbrella and doesn't have one, give them this umbrella. Tell them to do the same when they are finished with it. Maybe an umbrella travels all around Japan helping people."
That idea was so beautiful I agreed.
Two weeks later I was in Hiroshima and it started pouring. A woman with a baby was standing under an awning looking stressed. No umbrella, the baby was crying.
I walked over and gave her the umbrella. Told her the story in broken Japanese. She understood enough.
She tried to refuse but I insisted. Told her "when you're done with it, give it to someone else who needs it."
She nodded, said thank you about ten times, and hurried off with her baby.
I got soaked walking back to my hotel but felt good about it.
Sometimes I wonder where that umbrella is now. Hope it's still traveling, still helping people.
