@gooeygaster @TheMG3D Waifu2x has been around for awhile. Other AI upscaling existed before LLMs, and the problem is generative AI, not upscaling tech

@nickolas_m59213 @rushicrypto The building is already burnt down. You asked how these workers will the bills, and the first step is to strike. Your concern-trolling doesn't change the material conditions of workers who aren't paid liveable wages.

The Kimberly-Clark warehouse fire in Ontario, California, the other day caused an estimated $500 million in damages. Do we have any mathematically inclined individuals who can calculate how much more it would have cost the company if it had paid its employees a living wage?

@nickolas_m59213 @rushicrypto They should strike. The question isn't "how will they pay bills", it's "why Kimberly-Clark paid them poverty wages while risking $500M in assets?" Your framework serves capital by individualizing systemic failure, not workers who generate revenue.

@rushicrypto Maybe you can think about how all the workers at this plant are going to pay their bills now that they're out of work. If you want to make a point about wealth inequity, putting hundreds of people out of work is not the way to do it.

Millennial here. I bought my first house in 2009, about 2 years after graduating university. I had an entry level job making like $48k. I went to the bank with no money saved and got a 6% mortgage on a brand new 1600sf all brick house in a nice neighborhood outside Nashville. The price of that house, $189k, a $1,400/month payment after the loan was done. I also had a sub 700 credit score. Even I can see how good I had it just 20 years ago. These "live your best life" boomers are out of touch with reality.

Boomer here. I bought my first house after ten years of saving like crazy. And the interest was 14.5%. I don’t know where kids got the idea that they were due a house and new car at college graduation, but that’s NOT how it ever was.

@BadSciFiName @Earth936 @BreeNewsome Your "distinction" is irrelevant. Both serve capital, and both enable fascism. "Voters vs. politicians" is liberal mystification that obscures class power. Anything but structural analysis

Those poor wittle Democrats never have any power, do they? 🥺 Not even when they controlled all three branches, not when they have the WH & can end a genocide, not when they have hugely unpopular opponents… They just can never do anything but fundraise & chastise their own voters
Zachary Loeser@BadSciFiName

@RioSlade @BreeNewsome What exactly would you like the Democrats in Congress- who have no power - to do?

@BadSciFiName @Earth936 @BreeNewsome No, it's quite easy to explain. "They're still an imperial capitalist party which enjoys and engages in fascist action, just like their 'opposing party'."

@joeschwarten @DarrigoMelanie 16 million could vanish and there'd still have 200,000 extra homes. The "bad stat" is pretending scarcity exists when property relations create it.

@DarrigoMelanie I like you Melanie but that is a bad stat. While true most aren't habitable, seasonal homes, and aren't in places people actually want to live. Even so, that isn't an excuse to deport people. We just need to build more homes and let cities be cities.

@moutaidrinker34 @centristmarxist You can't read. I said the mechanisms were dismantled to prevent this solution. "Passing laws," especially ones that threaten automotive capital, requires class power that doesn't exist. Your framework is a matter of "would be nice", while mine is "materially impossible."

@eeemeadeee @centristmarxist So you admit we need to pass laws and not constitutional amendments tho despite being impossible would be nice

@WallyThe4th @centristmarxist @mcmansionhell The Constitution protects capital via "states" rights' zoning. HSR requires seizing suburban property (and threatens the automobile industry). Suburban property is the core wealth the Constitution protects. The interests are diametrical opposed

@moutaidrinker34 @centristmarxist >built at high speeds >Can give the same exemptions funding+urgency Except the legal mechanisms to do so don't exist lol. Highways serve automotive capital, while rail threatens it. The legal mechanisms don't exist because they were dismantled to prevent exactly this solution.

@eeemeadeee @centristmarxist Whats your point? Highways are built all the time at high speeds. You can give rail row the same exemptions funding+urgency

@plainricepls @centristmarxist Amtrak is not a high-speed rail network, doesn't exist in most cities, doesn't connect to most cities, and isn't maintained properly now. "We built wood huts when they were popular, nevermind that China builds megacities"
